Links to Channels in Public Teams don't work
Links to Channels in Public Teams don't work. If you click a link to a Channel in a Public Team that you've not yet joined, the link does not work. This was a feature just added to the April 26, 2017 update on Windows (release note below).
"Link to a channel or team: Now, you can grab a shareable link to a channel or team just by clicking the … next to the channel or team name. Copy and paste the link in a message or email to give someone a quick and easy entry point to key conversations, files, and contacts."

This feature request has been completed and is now available to the public!

Links to entire Teams don't work as well, unless you're already a part of that team. :(

This needs to work for files, wikis, and other pages on Teams. We are using this for FAQs and other related documentation for an internal business app and it is a pain to have to tell everyone to join first before the links work.

Any updates on this?

Can we get an update on this? Trying to roll out across our organisation and this is a primary detraction from global acceptance.

You need to make it so that a user who is not member of a team clicks a link to a team, she is presented with a join dialog. For private teams it should work like in sharepoint with a "request access" type dialog, and for public teams they will go straight into the team and the link they clicked. It would be great if they could decide on keeping the membership in some way after.
As of now, when a non member clicks a teams link they are taken to the first channel of their first favourite in their client. This is HORRIBLY confusing and HUGELY decremental for viral adoption.

The delay of this is slowing our adoption and keeping people in Slack. When is this going to go live for GA?

This was really frustrating for me when trying to get people to contribute to a Public Team or Channel. They should just be able to follow a link rather than needing to be specifically sent an Invite.
I found people (organisation members) could not get the link to work for the Team itself, in addition to it not working for individual channels.

We're having this issue too... Is there any ETA on when this might be incorporated into your roadmap?
