Regardless of where a meeting is created, Outlook or Microsoft Teams, the 15 minute reminders and the like should generate a notification from Microsoft teams to the user, either a popup dialogue window or otherwise.
Work on meeting reminder for Teams meetings is in progress.

Derek and Jeff;
I saw the comment on reminders for events in Outlook or Calendar being closed by admin, and I see why in the comment above: Microsoft is working on it.
But for those of you who wanted the /Remind equivalent from Slack, take heart.
Our Microsoft Teams bot called Kippa: fast and easy reminders for Teams, will be on sale on August 1st, about 6 weeks from now.
Kippa accepts natural language, personal, channel, team or @mention reminders. Reminders can be simple, "remind me to get some milk at 5:30pm today", or complex, "remind @channel that agenda items for tomorrow's meeting are due now at 3:30pm every Thursday, stop December 23rd.”
Kippa also automatically deals with timezones and switches in daylight savings times, to ensure your reminders fire at the right time, every time.

This is not a replacement for the team-wide reminders feature which was just declined. This is for meeting reminders.
We need the ability to set reminders for things that are not tied to a meeting/appointment.

I'm disappointed that there is no team-wide reminder as well. While this request is nice the other would also be great!!!!

Thank you for your feedback. The request for team-wide reminders has been declined.
^^this is a travesty. This is a built in feature in Slack that people have been requesting for years that is obviously very helpful. Apparently Microsoft doesn't care about being a worse version of Slack.
Amazing that Slack somehow has better integration with Outlook than Microsoft's own product...
It's easy to forget meetings with a busy schedule. The reminders with Webex were very helpful specially with the banner notification. It would be nice to have the same type of reminders with Teams. Before I was able able to snooze 5 or 10 minutes before the meeting started. Even better would be to have a countdown clock as a reminder for the meeting.
Would be great if there was a notification that pops up and does not close after 5 seconds again, but needs active closing by the user. Would be even better if one could set it (per default) to different times
Should be implemented - finally. - Look at Webex, e.g.

It seems that when a meeting is scheduled for a Channel, those in the Channel are not notified in email so they have the option to accept, and ********* their calendar. Meetings are getting missed. I would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has found a solution to this important issue.

I really have a problem looking up 10 minutes before a meeting. refocusing on my work and not looking up until 10 minutes before a meeting has started. I'd love a feature that would just automatically start my scheduled teams meetings. Or give me a big countdown clock desktop widget that won't hide.
Ideally, I think it would work like this:
15 mins before the meeting, a pop-up appears and /stays/ until dismissed, or until 5 minutes after the meeting starts.
The pop-up also has another button: "Alert me when meeting starts." When the meeting starts, your phone gives a chime, and it should be a *distinctive* chime -- ie, not the same one Teams usually gives you.
So if your meeting is started, but you've gotten distracted, your phone is letting you know -- "Hey, that meeting I reminded you about before? It's starting NOW."
This would be a great feature to have

Need a feature that enables the reminder to be changed when creating a meeting in MS Teams
As several have mentioned,
it would be very helpful if MS Teams had a reminder popup window that would stay active on the screen with the 'join call' button, rather than the current reminder that disappears shortly after the -15 minute reminder. Especially as the organization looks to transition from Webex to MS Teams, this feature would be critical to a smooth change.

As an organization, we are moving to the MS Teams platform and away from WebEx. However, MS Teams doesn't offer a pop-up reminder that a meeting is coming up soon like WebEx does. Having the reminder from the actual app is very beneficial and people are really reliant on those meeting reminders. Please consider adding this as an enhancement to the MS Teams platform. Thank you!
PLEASE GET REMINDERS ROLLED OUT SOON!
My company just switched from Webex to Teams and I really miss this function. It's easy to get absorbed into what you're doing and end up late for a meeting because there was no reminder until someone else starts the meeting. Can it really be that hard? Seems like something that would obviously be needed.
This seems like an easy feature to add? "Working On It" status for over a year.
the status is "Working On It" for more than a year now.
People will not use this if it is not at least as functional as Outlook's calendar. It does copy appts. from Outlook but there's no access to modify the reminders.

April of 2021 and I'm just now discovering this function isn't possible (my company just adopted Teams). Looks like this solution has been pending for about 4 years. Hard to believe, if this is in fact an official Microsoft forum.
As the makeshift "I.T. Guy" for my company, this lack of capability is hard to explain to my staff when Outlook has been able to do this for decades.
