Improve audio notifications
VOLUME: The sound is too low!! Most people don't think it's even on. Let us customize the sound level, please.
UNIQUE SOUNDS FOR CALLS VS CHATS/MESSAGES: Right now sounds are all or nothing. This is not good. For example, you may want to have sound for Calls but not for chat or messages. There is a difference when you need to hear that someone is calling you – versus getting the constant bing/bing/bing on message chat.
UNIQUE SOUND FOR PRIVATE CHAT: It would be nice to have different sounds for private chat and notifications, so that its easy to know what's coming in without having to look at it.
The team has updated the default sound for Teams notifications so it is more noticeable. We are in final testing, with a goal to release the new sound by the end of this quarter.
Here, here! The current notifications are far too subtle. It hinders productivity and can be a source of friction between otherwise responsive team members. PLEASE provide an option to dial this up and/or change the sound to something much more noticeable.
Please fix this! I miss so many messages due to this glaring bug. It's so bad that I would switch back to Slack if I could.

I think perhaps audio notifications have been failing to fire if the Teams window is visible but not active? When using a multi-display setup, I often leave Teams visible even when focus is on another window, and would like to still hear the notification; I just went half an hour before glancing over and seeing someone had asked me a question.

I also agree that the sound volume is much too low. I have to increase my volume so high but then everything else it much too loud.
I would like to be able to choose what sound I hear when receiving a message.

We just joined TEAMS and there is no way to adjust audio for other members during the meeting, some people are loud and others are soft. Programs like "Discord" allows the user to change the volume of each user in the meeting to their liking. I have another developer sitting right next to me so I don't need the audio going through TEAMS when I can hear him without it, there is a big propagation delay which makes it's hard to hear.
Need to be able to customize notification sounds.

Yes. If you could make it chirp like skype. That would be ideal.

+1. Kinda annoying seeing as Skype can do it.

PLEASE fix this. I am older and I'm missing IM's because it's too low. We need options to choose what one we like, high pitch to low. PLEASE address ADA as well. Thanks!
Hey Microsoft wake up!!!!!
The notification sounds in Teams are **** , everyone miss the calls on teams..... it rings on the worng device, with the wrong Sound and it is also to silent!
We want it to use inside our company, but for now it is useless.
This is still a problem for the Windows version. Please fix it, we are required to use this system where I work, and its completely useless because no one can hear the sound and be notified that there is a message.

The sales team is using a channel that recieves an email every time a web form is filled out. This allows the team to be very quick to respond in an attempt to convert the lead right away. A sound notification for a Followed Channel would help a lot!
Teams does not make a sound when someone posts something. This really needs to be fixed, all of our group members are missing messages because of lack of notifications.
As of today, this problem still occurs for us when using the MacOS version. The Mac version of Teams has never made any sound for us, or no sound that we could hear.
The "good" news on my side is that currently Teams will mute/pause all audio during a audible notification. (Running on PC); so the notification itself is not (always) heard, but the total lack of other audio is alerting me anyway..
For a good user-experience I would like it not to mute of course as it lead me to disable audio notifications completely for being too 'intrusive' currently..
So +1.. sound related issues need to be taken into account...

I don't need louder if I happen to be wearing headphones. Please keep it simple and just use the built in system sounds. I will adjust volume and tones myself.

To be honest, the sound is too obtrusive if I happen to be wearing a headset.
Instead of spending all this effort on reinventing the wheel just use the built in sounds of the computer. If in windows or mobile I can customize as I need. Keep it simple please!
I agree, the notification sound is too quiet. I cannot hear it at all. Need a way to customize this notification sound to something I can easily hear.
