Sound is too low and other sound problems
The sound is too low!! Most people don't think it's even on. Let us customize the sound level, please.
Right now sounds are all or nothing. This is not good. For example, you may want to have sound for Calls but not for chat or messages. There is a difference when you need to hear that someone is calling you – versus getting the constant bing/bing/bing on message chat.
In addition – on commercial skype you could actually set sound notification channel or chat by channel or chat. Some things you want the bing – others it is just an irritant.
With all the different apps on the phone being able to customize the notification sound is important to ensure that my team can reply quickly.
Please make calls have a ringing sound, so I know a call is coming through.
It would be nice to have different sounds for private chat and notifications, so that its easy to know what's coming in without having to look at it.
This item is still under review. I’ll keep following up with the feature team and sharing all your feedback.
We´ve just rolled out 100 iPods in a production environment and the ringtone can´t be heard at all. Teams really needs the possibility to change the ringtone and adjust the volume of it.
Deploying as a POC, and the notification sound is terrible. Too brief, too low, not enough options. C'mon, Microsoft, this should be a very easy fix.
Yes, please make adjustments so the sound can be hear more audibly. Rely on sounds to provide quick responses when multi-tasking.
I will just add I want to be able to assign a sound to each notification type. There are times when I need more than a simple 'bloop' when a chat starts. I need a 'ding-ding'. Let the user customize the target sound.

I'm sure it is under review.
I can only echo what everybody else here says - what good is a chat tool if there is no notification sound - I really should have insisted on using Slack! At least they diligently fix major issues. Get in gear Microsoft, and I don't mean reviewing the topic for another 2 years!

This is SO important. Right now, the sounds are way too low and I miss all of the incoming messages if I'm not staring at the right part of the screen when the notifications come in.
Skype allowed me to customize the sounds so I could pick my own sound effect for different actions (Incoming IMs, phone calls, etc.) so I wouldn't miss them. I chose a "laser" sound effect which was hard to miss, but currently Teams doesn't allow any sound customization.

I have also started a POC for Teams, but the notification/ringtone options are not enough. more notification ringtones with separate volume controls should be integrated. To start using on a full scale, we need options like this. This is unacceptable for a mass deployment.
How about an update?

Please add loud sound
What's taking so long? It takes over a year just to acknowledge that it's under review with this many votes, and over yet another year later, crickets...and for a feature this simple?
Constantly a serious issue!!! Can't we just substitute the audio file for a louder one?

Please, please, please
First day going live with Microsoft Teams. Can't hear ANY NOTIFICATIONS! Every other similar program allows you to customize sounds and volume so why not Teams? From the "admin" responses this critical issue is getting the middle finger from Microsoft.

BTW, I don't usually get this irate, but, this is just so UNBELIEVABLY basic. Software developers nowadays can be so bleeping clueless. This sounds like some WOKE person thinking that we don't want to BOTHER people lets be soft gentle and expletive deleted. Can't put a basic setting that let's you change the sound. Got to CONTROL other people. Someone's probably getting off on this.
This is critical to everyone that needs an incoming msg audio prompt. If you are on another call but need to respond to other associates with a critical need, a red badge on an icon is woefully inadequate.
Every chat application has had this functionality, including Communicator, Lync & Skype. How this has not been addressed is absurd since its being forced as a Skype functionality replacement. Not having this has a direct negative impact on productivity. Why does teams not have it's own audio notification settings?
You're selling a car without a steering wheel. How is this still "under review"?
There are so many other things that need attention I think they are triaging so many items that this is getting lost. I would make the argument that many times the new technology is adopted by IT and shared through the rest of the organization. Without the abilities above we've had to minimize the use of the teams tool in our organization. So much potential, but unusable in the current state as explained above. It can't be used for critical time sensitive work, which last time I checked chat is the preferred method in our organization, albeit this tool fails to provide.
It is a pity that such a basic issue exists and its even more horrible that this is under review for an year now. Come on Microsoft, this is not the first time you are building a chat application. its a basic necessity to have a notification that actually notifies. I am surprised how your QA even let this pass in the first place.

Still an issue! Need sound settings.
In review from like two years? Really? How stupid to not have this feature.!
