Improve audio notifications
VOLUME: The sound is too low!! Most people don't think it's even on. Let us customize the sound level, please.
UNIQUE SOUNDS FOR CALLS VS CHATS/MESSAGES: Right now sounds are all or nothing. This is not good. For example, you may want to have sound for Calls but not for chat or messages. There is a difference when you need to hear that someone is calling you – versus getting the constant bing/bing/bing on message chat.
UNIQUE SOUND FOR PRIVATE CHAT: It would be nice to have different sounds for private chat and notifications, so that its easy to know what's coming in without having to look at it.
The team has updated the default sound for Teams notifications so it is more noticeable. We are in final testing, with a goal to release the new sound by the end of this quarter.
Our team would like to see mobile app notifications for the teams tab as well.
let us change sound on the PC and Mobile Iphone apps to differentiate the alerts from existing apps installed vs a default.

Notifications are lacking, the sound is to low, have more options. Skype lights up when I get notifications this would be a good addition.
It would be nice if I could change the sound of all notifications
The sound notification is so low you can not hear it, I had to turn my sound up real high and finally heard something that sounded like my computer burped or something. There needs to be an option where you can define the sound like in Skype. So we know which sound belongs to the different applications.
This is a show stopper! The notifications are terrible for this application. I use a Mac and I would like to be able to configure the type and volume of Alert/Notification.
It would be nice to have notifications on the teams tab. A group of us at work have been using the teams section to communicate using it as a group chat platform. However, from what we have seen, the program (installed or via the web) does not notify us to new messages. It would be nice to get that functionality.

There is no new message notification sound due to which a lot of messages goes un-noticed. please add a notification sound or pop-up message window on receiving new message

The current sound for iPhone is too aggressive and a bit outdated. I would like to choose a softer sound.
I am getting these as well. Very frustrating.

I have my notifications sounds off but am getting sounds for every alert and even getting sounds when there isn't an alert.
Agree with all other comments. Wanted to switch from Slack but with the current state of the notifications (lack of sound, lack of tone changes to differentiate users) it's just not usable for our company at this juncture.

In addition - on commercial skype you could actually set sound notification channel or chat by channel or chat. Some things you want the bing - others it is just an irritant.

While using the browser-based app today I noticed that the Notification Settings window has a setting for "Sound", however changes to this seem to have no effect on whether I receive sounds or not. So I assume that not receiving sound is a bug.
I am on Linux, a Debian-based distribution. But I doubt that should have much of an effect. The important part is maybe that I am on Google Chrome perhaps.
$ google-chrome --version
Google Chrome 56.0.2924.87
$ uname -a
Linux alipaz 4.9.0-0.bpo.2-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 4.9.13-1~bpo8+1 (2017-02-27) x86_64 GNU/Linux
$ lsb_release -a
Distributor ID: BunsenLabs
Description: BunsenLabs GNU/Linux 8.7 (Hydrogen)
Several times a week I'll want to send a team member a message only to see that I've been logged off (and I have no idea why).
This means that my teammates cannot reach me until I happen to notice that I'm not longer logged in. As we're all in different locations this does present a big problem.
When a certain other Microsoft application shuts down, you get that distinctive sound which would surely alert me that I was no longer connected if Teams could facilitate something similar.

The browser-based application does not play any notification sounds. I am getting desktop notifications in Google Chrome, just no sounds. I am not sure, but I think I had to explicitly enable desktop notifications from my Google Chrome settings and no pop-up ever asked me about it. None of the other permissions seem to make teams play a sound however.
It would be helpful to be able to have more control over audible alerts on the desktop client. I would like to set specific sounds and volume so it does a better job of alerting me about messages and updates.

Seriously, there's a notification for just them reading it? Me and my coworkers were wondering for the longest time what the random notification sounds were occassionally. There aren't any indicators for "unread" messages so there's no visual indicator for it being "read" either leaving us completely in the dark on what was going on.
How did you figure this out?!
Yes, this needs to be fixed ASAP. It's really confusing.
