Improve audio notifications
VOLUME: The sound is too low!! Most people don't think it's even on. Let us customize the sound level, please.
UNIQUE SOUNDS FOR CALLS VS CHATS/MESSAGES: Right now sounds are all or nothing. This is not good. For example, you may want to have sound for Calls but not for chat or messages. There is a difference when you need to hear that someone is calling you – versus getting the constant bing/bing/bing on message chat.
UNIQUE SOUND FOR PRIVATE CHAT: It would be nice to have different sounds for private chat and notifications, so that its easy to know what's coming in without having to look at it.
The team has updated the default sound for Teams notifications so it is more noticeable. We are in final testing, with a goal to release the new sound by the end of this quarter.
We have just implemented Teams and our users are asking for us to reinstall OpenFire/Spark because the notifications on Teams is quiet and unnoticeable. User have missing important notifications and when addressing a team the notification or banner should be 'front and center'! Please have your UI team talk with or use some other chat programs. This really should have been a "slam dunk" for Microsoft as chat clients have been around for a very long time. Please resolve this with updates ASAP!
Make a sound when a message is sent out to groups or individuals. It is hard to keep track if there is no sound. Thank you! ....unless we just can't figure it out...in that case maybe make a buttonthat has easy access to change sounds and voulme.

Definitely want to be able to customize sound on my iPhone. Would be great if you could have a different sound for team chats versus private ones.
There needs to be a way to adjust notification sounds (both what sound is played and the volume). Currently the sound is way to soft especially compared to other notifications from other Microsoft Products.
Wow! On one hand I am glad to see I am not the only one missing messages b/c the notification sound is weak in Teams. But sounds like there isn't a solution yet! :(
There are notifications in Teams? I've never seen any sort of banner or flashing icon. I often miss messages unless I restore the Teams window. Usually the Teams window gets buried by "real work"!
Sounds are no good as we don't have sound enabled on our office PCs.
In addition to this, a notification doesn't even sound when Teams window already has the focus (i.e. the cursor is on teams or you haven't clicked off it to give another program the focus). This can get confusing for a multi screen display when watching a video or scrolling through a webpage article or something that does not require focus so the focus remains on Teams the whole time on a separate screen and you end up missing several messages cause it never played a notification.

Need this actually - I really need to assign a different sounds to Chat, as opposed to the other things.
Without appropriate notifications a separate email has to be written and sent to notify of the material in teams. That's just a double up and therefore makes Teams redundant before it starts. Great idea but can't be used effectively until notifications are fixed.
Just moved to Teams 2 weeks ago. I'm missing conversations as the sound is far too soft. I want to be able to select what sound I had in my previous chat client. You have oodles of sounds for every thing from booting up to shutting down and nothing for Teams. Come on MSFT!
How about a mode that beeps once per N minutes (configurable) until the app is clicked on (anywhere)
Currently, sound notifications are not working for me at all!
I agree 100%. Notifications are the weakest feature in Teams. It makes me really miss using Slack.
Please let us customize sounds! I'm working at my desk & someone pings me. I don't even hear it if I'm concentrating on something. I need an alert that I will notice...something more in my face. I would be great to cycle different sounds so when I get used to one I can choose another.

I agree with the OP. There needs to be customisation allowed for sounds. Additionally, the default sound is very easily missed. Here are some customisations that are needed.
- Default Message Sound
- Private Message Sound
- Default Message Sound Per Team/Channel
- Default Message Sound for Mentions

Teams makes sounds? I do not get a sound from it for anything.
When I click the "Video call" or "Audio call" icons in MS Teams, the person I call hears NO audible notification that I am calling him/her, if he/she is using the MacOS desktop version of MS Teams. The Windows version plays sounds, but sounds are broken in the MacOS version. The visual notification banner/popup is also faulty in the MacOS version. The video call feature is practically useless when I try to call colleagues using MacOS because they usually miss my calls because they don't see or hear the notification that someone is calling them. It is very frustrating.
Yes, notifications need to be more intrusive. Half of my company misses conversations in teams because they don't notice the notification like the used to in Skype. It's killing usage.

Yes.....Would like the option to control when we receive sounds/notifications.
Switched from AIM to Teams.....In AIM, you heard the notification beep on every received message. In Teams, if you are not looking at the screen when a message is received from a current string, you do not get the notification jingle.
Please make it an option to receive the notification jingle on every chat message received (even in a current chat string). Thanks!

Agree -- use Teams Chat to send messages to my direct reports but I think the notifications are insufficient to ensure they see them and respond.
