Improve audio notifications
VOLUME: The sound is too low!! Most people don't think it's even on. Let us customize the sound level, please.
UNIQUE SOUNDS FOR CALLS VS CHATS/MESSAGES: Right now sounds are all or nothing. This is not good. For example, you may want to have sound for Calls but not for chat or messages. There is a difference when you need to hear that someone is calling you – versus getting the constant bing/bing/bing on message chat.
UNIQUE SOUND FOR PRIVATE CHAT: It would be nice to have different sounds for private chat and notifications, so that its easy to know what's coming in without having to look at it.

The team has updated the default sound for Teams notifications so it is more noticeable. We are in final testing, with a goal to release the new sound by the end of this quarter.

I started this job a month ago, and I have already missed three meeting requests from my boss because this supposed realtime messaging app is actually a message archiving app. I am sure it will be of great use to future historians, but it is not very practical as a means of communication. I probably won't be around much longer at this rate, but when I'm back on the market, I will be sure to ask people whether thy use Teams. I won't be applying for jobs where they do.
Just out of curiousity, how many hundreds of millions of dollars have you guys spent on reinventing the telephone, without that pesky bell?

I agree - In my company, there are several teams that have multiple daily @channel mentions, but I don't want to be alerted. I rarely look into these channels (maybe every month or two) and don't want any notifications from them them. I have tried unfollowing them but they still fill up my activity feed, obscuring the notifications I care about.

Being able to change the notification sound and when to play a notification sound would be a huge advantage. Any chance this could be included in the next update? There's obviously need for this. I have 200 users who are pushing back against using MS Teams and crying for slack. There biggest argument is missing messages due to quiet and unreliable sound notifications. Granular control over notification sounds and when to play notification sounds would greatly improve the adoption of MS Teams in our company.
Does anyone from the Teams Development team even read these comments. As far as i can tell, nothing ever changes in regards to these suggestion sites.

Yes, we do not get notification via email if we are mentioned in a Team comment. Renders Teams virtually useless...

We are also having problems with notifications no longer working for team chats. Please resolve this.

Same here, missing notifications or some visual indication that something is waiting. Like in Slack. There is a red dot for a direct mention and a blue dot for a general notification.

Agree. I enjoy the "follow this channel" functionality, but for teams that I use regularly that don't have channels within them I am missing notifications constantly.

Please enable notification controls for each groups in teams.
For example, I'd like to receive notifications from my "core" work group and turn off notifications for ancillary groups.
Thank you!

The sound notification is so low you can not hear it, I had to turn my sound up real high and finally heard something that sounded like my computer scares me especially when other programs have notification sounds(really loud). There needs to be an option where you can define the sound like in Skype. So we know which sound belongs to the different applications, and notice better when we are on working.

Our company recently switched from Skype to Teams. So far, I enjoy Teams. However, I am having a major problem not hearing the notification sound when I am sent a message. There is no option to change the sound type or notification volume for Teams. I miss a lot of important messages or see them too late because I didn't hear a message, even with my computer volume very high.
I would like the ability to assign different notification types to conversations/chats/groups/etc. and to be able to control the level of volume at which they sound.

Some people don't like the "boop", would rather use a different sound or audio level. Make the sound type and volume configurable.

I missing a lot that kind of notifications. I have found that there is a new feature that allows to set notifications by "following" a channel. Although I am able to follow a channel, I still missing to receive notifications on the channel conversations.

Agree here, we can't fully adopt teams as we could.
We miss many sharing information for the lack of realtime notifications in mobile, desktop app and web... it's a must! thanks -

Agreed our teams are missing messages because of the lack of notifications

Is there another version available with better audiable alerts/notifications?

We would like to see this updated, as well. It's something Teams doesn't do all that well that Slack does very well. Slack puts everything you needed to see right in front of your nose at all times. Our team is constantly missing messages from the Teams tab, which is where a lot of the morale boosting updates are posted, ultimately negatively impacting culture.

Hear a tiny message ping. Look in Teams and see under Chat a missed call. There was NO ringing sound or dialog.
Please make calls ring.
