Improve audio notifications
VOLUME: The sound is too low!! Most people don't think it's even on. Let us customize the sound level, please.
UNIQUE SOUNDS FOR CALLS VS CHATS/MESSAGES: Right now sounds are all or nothing. This is not good. For example, you may want to have sound for Calls but not for chat or messages. There is a difference when you need to hear that someone is calling you – versus getting the constant bing/bing/bing on message chat.
UNIQUE SOUND FOR PRIVATE CHAT: It would be nice to have different sounds for private chat and notifications, so that its easy to know what's coming in without having to look at it.
The team has updated the default sound for Teams notifications so it is more noticeable. We are in final testing, with a goal to release the new sound by the end of this quarter.
Please let us customize sounds! I'm working at my desk & someone pings me. I don't even hear it if I'm concentrating on something. I need an alert that I will notice...something more in my face. I would be great to cycle different sounds so when I get used to one I can choose another.

I agree with the OP. There needs to be customisation allowed for sounds. Additionally, the default sound is very easily missed. Here are some customisations that are needed.
- Default Message Sound
- Private Message Sound
- Default Message Sound Per Team/Channel
- Default Message Sound for Mentions

Teams makes sounds? I do not get a sound from it for anything.
When I click the "Video call" or "Audio call" icons in MS Teams, the person I call hears NO audible notification that I am calling him/her, if he/she is using the MacOS desktop version of MS Teams. The Windows version plays sounds, but sounds are broken in the MacOS version. The visual notification banner/popup is also faulty in the MacOS version. The video call feature is practically useless when I try to call colleagues using MacOS because they usually miss my calls because they don't see or hear the notification that someone is calling them. It is very frustrating.
Yes, notifications need to be more intrusive. Half of my company misses conversations in teams because they don't notice the notification like the used to in Skype. It's killing usage.

Yes.....Would like the option to control when we receive sounds/notifications.
Switched from AIM to Teams.....In AIM, you heard the notification beep on every received message. In Teams, if you are not looking at the screen when a message is received from a current string, you do not get the notification jingle.
Please make it an option to receive the notification jingle on every chat message received (even in a current chat string). Thanks!

Agree -- use Teams Chat to send messages to my direct reports but I think the notifications are insufficient to ensure they see them and respond.
its doesn't get pop up sound and different types of notification like a mobile , we need to add the sound option and block option to be secured!!!

Notifications in general need some love.
I can't limit notifications to "Sender Only" or "Hide all Content"
Also I can't turn off banners but keep the orange icon? Seems odd.

Just more Notification options in general I think is the idea here. I would like what is mentioned above, and also the ability to limit desktop notifications to just the sender, or just "you have a new message"
There is an HR argument to be made here.

The inaudible volume of sound notifications for the chat is the reason why users in my team have decide to move away from Teams - we are eagerly waiting for a resolution on this.

You should set a different sound based on the channel conversation
Notification in general is strange. The Teams icon should blink if you've missed something. But I've had too many instances where someone sent me a message and there's no number showing up on the minimized Teams icon.

I have the opposite problem. I hear a tone but I don't know where it came from; the task bar entry doesn't get a highlight color, like it does for me when I get a response in a channel.
Agree, sound will be very helpful.

Conversation notifications need to be more "in your face". It's very subtle at the moment. Sound would be a welcome addition.
Same problem here, but only in the Mac version, not the Windows version. When a new chat message arrives in the MacOS desktop version of MS Teams, no visual notification appears, and the bloop sound volume is so low that it is almost silent and very difficult to hear.

I would like to see the Notifications Settings allow for more customizing. I saw another thread where a person described Teams as "not being intrusive enough", and I like that. Even with my volume turned all way up, the existing single tone available is not loud enough or does not always go off when a new message is sent. Also, the banner does not always pop up. Notifications has been the biggest issue within our office.
Please expand upon this setting.
Teams is *very* cool and very well done but this is such an obvious problem. Come on Microsoft.
