Improve audio notifications
VOLUME: The sound is too low!! Most people don't think it's even on. Let us customize the sound level, please.
UNIQUE SOUNDS FOR CALLS VS CHATS/MESSAGES: Right now sounds are all or nothing. This is not good. For example, you may want to have sound for Calls but not for chat or messages. There is a difference when you need to hear that someone is calling you – versus getting the constant bing/bing/bing on message chat.
UNIQUE SOUND FOR PRIVATE CHAT: It would be nice to have different sounds for private chat and notifications, so that its easy to know what's coming in without having to look at it.

The team has updated the default sound for Teams notifications so it is more noticeable. We are in final testing, with a goal to release the new sound by the end of this quarter.

It's been a year since this was in testing and expected. PLEASE update the status of this item.
It's the #1 reason that our company adoption rate is struggling. People are missing the chat notifications. It's not good that I prefer getting my phone out and texting a co-worker.

It is atrocious that Microsoft discriminates against those with hearing disabilities and since we've moved from Skype to Teams, I have missed several personal messages and it is affecting my work and I have no work around to fix this and my company is coming down ******* me because I CANNOT hear the notification sound you guys provide. This has been an issue with Teams for 3 years. Do you not care about your users with disabilities?

Sorry, why can we not customize what sound plays for each notification? Or why can't it respect the "Instant Message Notification" sound specified under sound schemes? Teams is backwards compared to the MSN/Live Messenger days. Please introduce customizability.

So, the sound only notification has been merged to this but this is already in testing... I wonder if it's implemented as well or since this is on, tough luck for us...

Yes, please add an option to create specific alert sounds for each private chat notification. It would help SO much!!

Going on a year on this update - Any luck? The CHAT notification in particular is almost impossible to hear...

Please make it so that teams notifications does not reduce the volume of other applications running at the same time. It is very annoying to be listening to something and then to receive a teams notification that lowers the volume of what I'm listening to for several seconds, even after the notification sound has completed.

I would like to have a sound notification without the banner.

I want to customize sounds. Everyone has the same sound, so I can't tell if the alert is mine or a co-worker's. On mobile it is possible to customize the sound, which is great.
I use the desktop app for mac.

In priority order:
1. I vote for audio/sound only notifications as an option.
2. I vote for customizable sounds
3. and thank you for working on at least a unique sound. -

"More Noticeable" is a bit ambiguous. I was hoping to be able to set my own sound.
Adding the options in the Windows system sounds would be the best.
Skype has its own sound settings in there. -

I'm new to Teams, the first thing that I rushed to do was to turn off the banners and KEEP de sound, when I realized that wasn't possible I was astonished. How come such simple and incredibly useful functionality not be present ?? Please fix this ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!

Please let us change the audio file for notifications. I am so surprised that I miss Skype... I changed the notification to a relaxing (BUT LOUD) guitar sound.

Like many other comments below - need to separate the banner and sound notifications. Can't have chat messages popping up when sharing my screen! Until MS can fix this, frankly, obvious flaw - I've turned off all notifications.....

Please at least let us set it to an existing Windows Sound like we could with Skype for Business. The FAA has changed over to teams and every time someone sends me a chat, the subtle little "bloop" sound doesn't grab my attention at all. I want to be able to set it to LYNC_ringtone3.wav...then I'll never miss a chat.

Please provide the ability to customize the notification sounds. Don't just change or increase the volume of the default notification sound with no way to change it ourselves.
At the very least, I want different sounds for chat vs. Teams/channels, and I would like to be able to assign my own sounds.
I might even like to be able to assign custom sounds to individual chats or channels. I can assign specific sounds to higher priority chats or channels so I know immediately when I hear the sounds that it's one of the higher priority things I need to respond to sooner.

The current sound is too soft for those of us who are hard of hearing. I do not think that the current notification system is ADA compliant.

The banners that accumulate take over the screen. It would be nice to have an option where an alert is sounded but the banners don't keep popping up getting in the way of my work.

Well, I just want the sounds, no banners!
Banners hide part of the application I'm working on while Teams is minimized and they tend to accumulate upwards on the screen if several messages from a Team Channel get in from several people at once. I just need the sound to know something got in, so as to check it whenever I can, without interrupting or covering my work on another application.
