Automatically send files if they finish uploading.
When sending a file I have to wait for it to be uploaded before I can send it. Why don't send it but keep it uploading? It´s a waste of time. I don't won't to wait. It's frustrating.

This was SO much easier with Slack. There you'd just drag a file *anywhere* on the window to send it to someone, and it would be automatically sent once uploaded. Exactly what I expect. Why else would I drag a file on the window?

Instead of dragging the file to Chat tab, drag the file to "Files" tab, once uploaded, a message will be posted in chat as well that a file has been shared.

We really need this feature. Just had an instance where files were shared late for a client because of this issue. Please enable us to press send before a file finishes uploading in order to either a) send once the file has finished or b) send the text and inform the recipients in the Team that the file upload is in progress.
I really need this feature, I have to share a 70Mb file daily with a coworker and it takes about 10 minutes for file to get uploaded (not sure why upload is so slow). I have to keep checking back if the file is uploaded and then press send. I often get distracted with other tasks and forget to check and that leads to delay in sending file that my coworker needs to send critical daily reports.
what a waste of time that i need to hit the send button after uploading to the teams chat. some of my larger files take 10-20 mins to upload, by that time i have moved on to other things forgetting to hit the send button. i dont mind the upload portion, but why cant it automatically send after uploading, or at lease give us the option to do so.

My primary chat to one user is STILL locked by this message after a week. I found that I could "popout" a separate chat window and continue the chat there. The chat appears on the primary window chat but is not blocked by the upload lock.
I have no idea how to get rid of the upload lock yet.
I'm currently staring at a 70% uploaded file....waiting.....to be able to hit "enter" on an important message with directions to a team member.
Any reason it can't auto-send when it finishes uploading? Adobe has a similar function when you go to close a file while it's actively saving–– "This file will close when it finishes saving." Automatically. Beautiful.
What if my file takes 10mins to upload? During this time, I can't talk to the person. Such bad design...

Yes! I don't want to babysit Teams while it uploads. Please fix this! Twice yesterday I tried to send a file, had to wait so I moved on to something else, and then a few hours later realized that I hadn't sent it.

This issue actually has a lot of votes on various pages - if we all vote for on all of these perhaps we can get this issue fixed:

Yes please! If i upload a file and hit the send button, just let the message continue sending after the upload is complete. I hate having to wait around for the upload to finish before I can hit the send button again.
Look at Skype: it is easy to send files there, but in Teams you have to wait when the file will be uploaded before sending it.

Yeah at the very least fix the upload bar to represent the ability to send the message. It's annoying to see the upload bar complete, hit Send, and then be told to wait until the upload has finished... :-(
I totally agree. If I let it upload and move on to something else and forget about it, then it never gets "sent" even tho it uploaded. Ridiculous.

Completely frustrating. A very bad behaviour, absolutely useless.

Agree - especially with large files it's easy to forget to press the send button once you've moved onto other channels or chats
