Stuck in a login loop after password change
I recently change my system password, with MS Teams is already up and running in the background. I open Teams to check new messages, and it locks the app with the pop up "Can you please sign in again? Sorry for any inconvenience. Login Now"
I click Login Now but all it does is restarting MS Teams and show me the same message. I am unable to re-authenticate. I've tried restarting the application, that didn't work.
I had to right click on the systray icon to logout and re-login. I should be able to re-login when the app prompted "Login Now"
It's absolutely ridiculous that this hasn't been fixed yet.
Typically, clearing cached credentials as per Haniels's superb post (https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-teams/recovering-from-incorrect-microsoft-teams-login/m-p/52412) should help but I have been unable to do so as the credential manager would not launch.
So, I had to find another solution and this works for me. NOTE: you should not run these commands if you don't know what you're doing. I cannot accept any responsibility for any problems caused by following the steps below.
Also note, in my circumstances I am using a domain joined laptop which is also registered in Microsoft Azure. Please consider if this is reflective of your own circumstance.
1. Close down teams and office
2. launch an elevated command prompt
3. run dsregcmd /status (this will show you if your laptop is registered with Microsoft Azure). If it is not registered, run dsregcmd /leave. Then run dsreg /join
4. In the same elevated command prompt, you may need to run gpupdate /force
6. Sign back into teams.
I changed my Microsoft email and pass word. but they say there is a client request loop to contact app advisor. What the heck?
How to view my own password in teams app
Same problem with password change. Please fix
How to contact MS Teams_PWD for queries?
I fixed my problem by trying to log in as another non-existing account which popped up a microsoft log-in window where I was able to enter my new password. After that Teams loaded properly.
After 3 years ,still the same issue and no solution. What a great bug fixing company!!!!

I openend a support ticket.
The solutions proposed are only workaround:
1. Clear windows credentials - requires restart
2. Remove work or school account - requires restart
3. Sign out of Teams
4. Clear the Teams cache - %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams
5. Uninstall and re-install Teams

I have the same issue please help....
We are facing the same problem .. After password change ..users are stuck in logging in .. the problem can be fixed either by clearing team's cache or you have to sign out then sign in as different user so that the authentication processes starts and then sign with the intended user.
I DO think it is a BUG and it is related with the fact that users are created in on premise AD and using azure ad connect with pass-through authentication ..
This is totally unacceptable I am trying to sell your software to my company but consider 300 employees .. changing their password every 30 days .. THIS DOES NOT WORK AT ALL !!
Please do fix this as soon as possible
We are 250 employees at our company, we have moved to Teams from Slack, we have encountered this bug too. We are a development company and i'm disappointed, no fix after 3 years... Whether this problem often occurs or not, we need every of our users.
I am having this same issue. Wasted all work day and 2 meetings because of this

Hey Brian McDonald we need some help here. Sean Herm's work around worked for me. But if you want adoption of teams to stick, then you need to make changing a password as seamless as Outlook updating its password. Or tell us what we are doing wrong to make password updates so difficult in Teams. Thank you for your time.
Here is the work around:

Still not solved. I really wonder how Microsoft cannot attend such a bug???
I work in IT support and this happens all. the. time. with our clients. This person I just finished speaking to is getting really annoyed that this happens every 3 months (when our clients' passwords expire). I cannot believe we have to keep documentation for the workarounds we've discovered for a 3-year-old problem on Microsoft's end. Why is this not resolved?
