Ability to Copy a Team
It would be really useful to copy a team with all Channels and files/tabs associated, this way we could create a template and copy it when creating new teams

Thank you for your continued feedback. The feature team is reviewing this ask and working on a solution for team templates without content, as well as considering ways to create teams from template with content (i.e. files, etc.). We will share an update as soon as one is available.

This feature would be great, and it seems like there are so many uses for it! When can we expect to see this?

make sure it includes any MS planner / Power apps that were created in the team as well (including all their settings / details)

I hope the ability to copy teams with files arrives soon, an essential feature for quickly creating project related workspaces...

Are there any updates on this feature? Being able to copy a whole Team along with all channels and content has become a necessity while working on creating efficient processes in multiple projects. Having to manually copy all the files and task-lists is redundant and time consuming when we can copy them as part of the whole Team. Would appreciate an update on when this feature will be available!

Cloning a team from another member(co-worker) will be perfect option, and will speed up the process of setting up school classes. So when the Class manager create his team of students, the other teachers that teach the same class, will not need to add them again, just clone the students structure from Class manage and speed up the setup.
Thanks

Now that we have the ability to create a new Team based on a template, it would be great to be able to copy an entire Team (including all content!). In my college, we often have multiple instructors teaching the same course, or instructors teaching the same course but different dates, so being able to copy all content and just changing due dates, contact information, etc., would be a great help and save so much time.

Your last update was 2 1/2 years ago. Please provide an update.
With the demands of WFH, this is a missed opportunity for a powerful feature. I work in a highly regulated environment with frequent audits.
My use case is to create an audit hosting master team with guidelines, templates, and wikis. Then I could copy the team for each audit event with all of those resources intact. Now that everyone is WFH and audits are becoming virtual, this is more relevant. But this approach could be used for projects, product development coordination, etc.
Now I have to do everything manually which defeats the purpose of the current copy teams feature.
FYI: For all of you with the same problem. You can still manually highlight files and folders and select Copy To and navigate to your new team. It's still a PITA. Doesn't help with tabs and wikis though.

How do I create copy of my existing team with all files and quizzes, assignment and members easily and quickly in no time?

Maybe you can add the option to add files and other content or only the channels and settings.

When do you expect to integrate a full copy function of Teams? At our university we create a separate team for eachcourse for each class. This has to do with working in groups. It would be very nice if I can set up a team for group 1A and that I can use it as a template for 1B to 1H. I know this is now possible but he does not take the data, the wiki, the tabs, the commands and the secure channels. Furnishing takes so much time.
It would be nice if this functionality is added.

Creating a Team from an existing template still doesn't carry the tabs information with it. The structure of tabs is copied but the content of wikis, planner and files still have to be built from scratch in the new Team.
The inheritance of all the tabs inner content would be tremendously useful for me in my company. Similar projects that are recurrent would be created with a few clicks from an existing template.
Please include this capability. Thank you.

Yes, please. We would also like to be able to distribute an entire team to another tenant.
Ideally, we would like to provide a backup of an entire team so that an admin could restore import the team into their tenant and begin using the team as is, including all assignments, channels, files, folders, forms etc.
This would enable course designers to offer read-to-go courses, without the need to host the course themselves, which could open up an entirely new marketplace for course development, course provision, course management etc.
This would be similar to migrating a team from one tenant to another, but if it could be provisioned in a similar way to "Upload a Custom App", but as "Upload a Custom Team", this would allow anyone to provide master teams (like templates) but with much more functionality, such as assignments, quizes, surveys, activities etc.

Copying a team is a great start, but then needing to add content and web sites to the channels and still manually copy all files can be a bit of a lift. It would be very nice to get this all done in one shot.

When do you want to finish the work on "Working on it"? This would be soooo helpful. In a first step could be introduced at least copying whole buckets. Individual tasks can already be copied into other plans...

Does anyone know the status of coping a existing Team with channels, folders and files?
We would like to created a "master" Team, where a standard structure of folders including standard files is implemented under the tab "Files" in one or more channels and then use this "master" Team as a starting point for creating other Teams.
