We are setting up your file directory - still an issue from day one
This has been an issue for me and my whole team since day one.
When trying to use files i get the following message: "We are setting up your file directory."
The same implies when trying to use for example one note: "We are setting up the OneNote notebook for this team. It will take a few minutes, please be patient and check out later." - nothing has happened for a few weeks.
Is this an ongoing issue to be solved?
This issue is still actual. More of our employees are confronted with it :-(
Hopefully it can been corrected?

Hi there, i had the same issue...
This issue is related to teams latency.
Try clicking on filestab from teams channel.
If it shows cant access or any error click on other tab (eg: wiki) let it load and the click back on files tab again. It'll work. Once this starts working other will all be solved.
How is this still not fixed? 3 year old question?!
i m still facing this issue .. tried deleting channel and adding again
made members as owners none of them worked
would someone from MS read this ongoing issue and provide solution ?
It seem's that when we create an Office 365 group and then create the Teams using that Office 365 Group it will cause this error.
If that is your case, I would strongly suggest removing the Team and re-create it using the Teams admin center. In that case it will create the Office 365 group for you. For that you simply need to go on the Admin center > Teams admin center > Teams > Manage Teams > Add new Team.
If ever you are looking to correct the SharePoint URL to be original, since the site will not be deleted right away, you will need to delete using the Online SharePoint Shell, you can follow this link to do so: https://www.urtech.ca/2017/09/solved-delete-sharepoint-online-site-using-powershell/I sure hope this helps you!

Same here. Trying to create a site design with a Flow to customize the Teams and underlying SharePoint, but 1 teams created out of 4 get stuck with "We are setting up your file directory" and blocks the whole provisioning process.
We have to roll out multiple MS Teams per day and end up with a clogged workload because EACH team takes hours while ''waiting for file directory'!
same here, any solution yet ??

Same issue here, please help. Also can not get email for channels - error equals = We're still setting up your team" Anyone else?
Same here... worked fine in the past, but for weeks now for any new group me or my team members create, the Files tab is stuck at "We are setting up your file directory.". This on Windows devices.
In Teams for Android, it's stuck at "We can't get files." and the "Retry" fails every time.
Is there still no solution to this?
Same. In SharePoint a site has been created end added a file there, still the "we are setting up.." screen is visible in Teams. I've added the Teams, Office 365 etc URL in the trusted sites and still no change.
I've also removed myself from the Team to add myself later through Groups instead of Office365, no change.
Since it is usually when creating a new Team, try to make a new one and use that. That will be my advise to my customers that have this problem until MS fixes this.
Same issue, cannot post any files.
Same here, I set up a team 2 days ago, I still get the message "We are setting up your file directory. Try refreshing the page after a few minutes or check back later.".
same here. Any solution?

We are having the same issue in Microsoft Teams
Hi, it was working very well, I have a part of my organization working with it, and now I have created a new channel a week ago, and I still get the message "We are setting up your file directory.
Try refreshing the page after a few minutes or check back later.". Can we please help me and solve it?
In my case, when the check box of <control access based on network location>has been removed in the sharepoint admin center, the file、wiki、onenote are now working. this solution is worth a check.
