Sync notification badge count across platforms
The unread notifications count needs to be synced across platforms. For example, right now if I read my Teams messages on my Mac, my iOS app will still have a red badge on the app icon indicating I have unread messages. This leads to be constantly opening my iOS app thinking I have missed something, only to see it's messages from hours earlier that I already read on another device.
Glad to see I'm far from the only one on this. Just pasting what I originally wanted to write in a ticket:
Like a lot of other people I have Teams on my work computer and phone. When I receive a message or something else prompting a notification, I receive it both places, just as I want to. But why on earth does it not sync to both places when I read that message/prompt on eg. the Desktop app? So I have to stare at that notification icon on my Phone forever until I swipe it away, only for it to pop right back the next prompt.
Most multi-platform chat services have this sync. feature, which is quite critical for the consumer to be able to endure using Teams on their phone.
I do face this issue. I use my android mobile & windows desktop. eventhough I read the message in laptop, I do see the notification in mobile.

I don't know if this is a side effect of the badge sync, but I'm also getting an incorrect number on my notification badge on iOS. I will have no unread messages, get one message on Teams on my desktop. Read it and reply on the desktop app. Then my iOS badge shows 6 unread message.
I just have to open the app, and everything refreshes, and nothing shows as new or unread and the badge goes away, but still odd.

This is still a problem.

This would be great to have - for those of us who use multiple devices (desktops and mobile devices), it's a pain not being able to quickly look and see whether you've got new messages or items to review - only to realise you already actioned them before moving to that device.
I have the same problem between my Android phone and multiple PC devices. When I read something on one, it remains unread on the others. This is more than just an annoyance. I now routinely ignore the badge count, because I assume it's something I already read. I'm likely to miss legitimately new messages.

I have noticed the same thing. It would be nice if the badge would clear itself once the message is read from another device.

Chris Webb - Nope, Facebook, LinkedIn etc apps clear the badge count (notifications) on the iPhone app icon, when I check the notifications via PC.
Teams iOS app, on the other hand, doesn’t. I need to actually open the app to force the sync.
This is driving me crazy. Also, the badge in the footer flashes, even if I have read the message. The most annoying part is that I get notifications on my mobile phone even if I have the PC app open

I have noticed the same and it bugs me - I'm using Teams primarily on my laptop but then I'm mobile with my phone, think there are updates, but once I open the app it syncs and the notifications go away.
There should definitely be some kind of background sync which keeps the badge updated.
In regards to this being an iOS limitation - I don't believe so, I know that other apps only shows badges for "unread" notifications and if I read them on a different device the badge eventually updates.

I think this is an iOS limitation. Pretty sure Facebook and other apps do the same thing.
