Move planner tasks to another team
We have created a planner tab in most of our teams. Sometimes a task on the plannerboard has to be moved to another team (e.g. next step on a task has to be executed by a different team), which now has to be done by deleting the task in the original team and adding one in the other team with copying data from the original task.
Possible solution: when editing a task it displays the teamname and bucketname in the left top. When you click on the name you can select a different team (only teams you are subscribed to), select a bucket within that team and optional select a member to assign the task to and click on a move button
Good news, this feature is partially done. :)
Planner tasks can now be copied to other plans. To copy a task, click on the “…” menu on the task. From there, you can select a different plan to copy the task to.
How has this not been done yet? It's nearly two years and you can only copy a task from one plan to another as long as it's on the same site / team /365 group. When can planner catch up with the speed of development of other 365 / MS products?

Any updates yet?

I sure do wish that I had not spent all the time to create a template plan just to realize I wasted my time. Now I have to go sell better PM software to my boss after I promised I could make it work with Outlook 365 that we are already paying for.
To recreate the plan 5 - 10 times per week is not improving productivity at all.
Seriously, this is awful! I share the frustration with everyone in this thread.
The main issue in this thread seems to be circumnavigated each time. from what I have read most people are having the same issue as myself. I created a very in depth planner template in a team which I use to Beta test project strategy with senior staff. now it has been created I cant copy the planner over to another team. copying each individual item task by task is NOT feasible. I don't understand why if you can selected a previous plan from within a team you have created, why would you not be able to import a plan from another team you created. it makes no sense, if anyone has any workarounds which don't involve reams of manual labour please help!
It would be awesome if we could move an entire bucket to another planner or move even be able to move a team planner to another team.

This feature IS NOT partially done.
The ENTIRE POINT of the request is to get the functionality to move a task between TEAMS, not plans. So the comment about copying the task to another plan is NOT RELEVANT.
There needs to be a TEAM-level pulldown above the Plan level pulldown current on the Move Task operation interface panel.

Any updates? I need to move a plan that was created in the wrong team.
Is there an update on this? I need to be able to copy entire plans or buckets to other teams as it is much too tedious to do this task by task
Trying to move tasks/planners to another team but it seems to only let you move them between channels within the same Team? Do I really have to manually re-create them all? :/
Agree! Is this possible yet? Would like to move one Planner/tasks to another Team. Do not want to have to move task by task.
Yep, this is a step in the right direction but we still need to be able to copy whole plans/buckets/tasks to additional teams/planners.
Also, not singular tasks but in bulk. This is taking me forever to copy processes into multiple teams... :(

Strange, such a simple ask, click and drag tasks from one bucket to another even isn't available. The buckets in Teams resemble so many applications ability to move 'post-it' type tasks around, but can't do that either? Really need to get that feature sorted please. thanks
We get questions all the time, how to move a planner from one team to another team.
When will the move a task option be available?
I built a calendar in the wrong teamsite somehow...is there no easy way to transfer that calendar to another teamsite?? This seems like it should be easy, but I can't seem to figure it out.

So, you can still not copy a Template of Tasks from a Plan to another Plan in a different Team? We create Teams by Project, also because the user authorization is by Team, so this functionality is NEEDED otherwise we need to copy a Plan of 20 Buckets and 30 Tasks manually?

What a stupid application that we pay a lot of money for!! There's no drag/drop option and notes and other data i not copied. There should be a MOVE and BULK MOVE option. Really Microsoft?????
How do you add the copied plan from the planner hub to a channel in Teams?
it also doesn't copy the comments and the assigned person :-(
if I move the task I am assigned. instead of the person who really completed it :-(
