Move planner tasks to another team
We have created a planner tab in most of our teams. Sometimes a task on the plannerboard has to be moved to another team (e.g. next step on a task has to be executed by a different team), which now has to be done by deleting the task in the original team and adding one in the other team with copying data from the original task.
Possible solution: when editing a task it displays the teamname and bucketname in the left top. When you click on the name you can select a different team (only teams you are subscribed to), select a bucket within that team and optional select a member to assign the task to and click on a move button

Good news, this feature is partially done. :)
Planner tasks can now be copied to other plans. To copy a task, click on the “…” menu on the task. From there, you can select a different plan to copy the task to.

The option to move to another plan seems to be in the move option but the drop down for plan doesn’t show any of the other plans on the system? When is this going to be fixed?
Note, even if we could just copy it to another plan rather than moving it entirely would be a lot better than having to recreate them from scratch each time we realise it needs to be somewhere else. -

We have started to collect tasks for a new project in a specific bucked of an existing (operational) Plan. In the meantime this project has been started and a corresponding Teams initialised.
> now I would like to MOVE this bucket to the new Team! Two step procedure would be ok (1. move bucket to other Plan in same team, 2. move whole plan to new team) -

Yep it seems to me too that this isn't possible! Not good, this is basic, basic functionality...

It should be possible to copy/move
- a card/task to a plan in another team
- a list to a plan in another team
- a plan to another team -

We are looking at moving our project management to Teams but this is a serious obstacle. How can we not be able to create a task template to be reused within any team we want to?

I agree with David -- This is not even partially done. This is a 2 year old thread; are you telling me this is still not a working feature?

Partially done.... not really...
Need to be able to move tasks to other team spaces. Not currently available, not even partially available. -

Please advise if the ability to move a task between teams can be done or if there are plans to hae it done.
Need to retain the legacy comment information and currently there is no option to do so. This is definitely an oversight relating to the planner tool and the MS Teams environment.

I understand labels and the assignment can't be copied. But why can't the comments or the attachments be copied?

I do not find any more this possibility to copy the task to another plan in the new planner/to do version!

The same task can be followed up in different plans when copying. But is it possible that when you do an update on the task it will update on both planners where the task exist? Regards from someone who deals With outer and inner loop by planner:)

Will it be possible to move an entire Planner from one Team to another?
Thank you very much -

As a teacher, Microsoft should work in moving Assigment from one team to another, it would save a lot of time as sometimes teacher we have different groups that we are going to set the same Assignments.

I suggest a different approach. It should be possible to export Planner tasks to a file and then import them again to a different Team. This is what a company who are good digital citizens would enable. This allows moving from other Kanban tools to Teams Planner and the reverse. Software products should win us over by being superior and not by locking us into a closed system.
A CSV export or using the Microsoft Planner format must be achievable.
By the way this is a general problem in Teams. I can also not export from the wiki, can't even print from it. For this reason I have stopped using it on projects as I cannot document the process outside of Teasm which makes QA archival impossible.
