Move planner tasks to another team
We have created a planner tab in most of our teams. Sometimes a task on the plannerboard has to be moved to another team (e.g. next step on a task has to be executed by a different team), which now has to be done by deleting the task in the original team and adding one in the other team with copying data from the original task.
Possible solution: when editing a task it displays the teamname and bucketname in the left top. When you click on the name you can select a different team (only teams you are subscribed to), select a bucket within that team and optional select a member to assign the task to and click on a move button
Good news, this feature is partially done. :)
Planner tasks can now be copied to other plans. To copy a task, click on the “…” menu on the task. From there, you can select a different plan to copy the task to.

YES... as a teacher we make assignments and other things and need a way to set up one class and copy that assignment to all the other classes. You guys seem to copy almost everything Google does but have missed one of the most used and required functions of Google Classroom for teachers in this virtual age... please FIX THIS NOW

Moving planners across teams is a key function for a dynamic work environment, I see a lot of workarounds (not good for a professional environment) when we just want a simple thing:
Move a planner with all contents (Assignments, comments, etc.) across teams, in case you are moving the planner for a diferrent team with misses some team members, the app just should ask if we want to add the team members to the destination Team (simple, right?).
Also moving the comments is key, because comments contain precious (and timed) information about the tasks being done.
Thanks for your attention and support.
The copy plan is really flawed. It loses all the important data like comments and even if it was already completed!
Not exactly a copy is it?
Is there going to be an ability to move the entire plan from one group to another? can understand why assignee would be lost if its a different group and appreciate there might be a challenge with attachments but don't see why progress state, checklist states and comments would be lost.

You can copy between teams but you lose all the comments, assignments, and attachments. We need a way to move the planner to a different Team
This only works if the new planner is in the same team. If I want to move planners across different teams however, this is not possible. Kind of an essential feature that's missing if you ask me.

This is only par of the solution. If I wan to move task fromone planner to an planner in een in een different team or the same teaam in a different stream it will not work. Or export/import or an other way of copien taks to a different stream would help.

Oh... I take some of that back , you CAN copy between teams....

Yup, need this, Tasks get created in one team, then need input from another, so need to be able to move tasks between teams - absolutely.
Don't agree with Partially done.. Doesn't get the point at all. Also isn't helpful when you've had to set a new team up to cope with not being able to have planner in a private channel.
I, for instance, use a 'personal team' (I'm the only member) to take notes, create tasks for me, which now need to be moved into another Team, which I manage and then allocated to the right person in that team (there may be several other Teams)...
This would be a proper game changer, it's a feature that is highly needed in bigger organizations.
When I copy the planner page over, it loses all the 'Assigned to' people and the attachments! Why can't we just 'move everything over... why does it have to be so difficult! It is meant to be easy and simple but it is so complex!

This isn't really useful until you can copy to a plan residing in another Group/Team...
Please provide an update to the ability to move a planner task from one team/channel to another. Can we expect to see this update soon?

This really needs to get delivered.
You can create a template plan in planner, but if you create new Teams tabs based on the template with new Plan names, all changes in any of these are mirrored to all seemingly separate copies and the original template. It's incredible that you need to create all plans always from scratch instead of being able to copy existing to new, independed plans. Copying one task at a time is absolutely painful and slow and pointless. Please deliver, this has been open for 3 years already!
It is ridiculously stupid that if you want to move a plan to a different team/group you have to completely rebuild it. Even export/import. Come on!
We really need this now...
Hey there, the current status would be very good to know because the functionality to move a task from one team to another team is tremendous important. Please let us know what Microsoft thinks about this issue.
This is seriously not still done? It's been 3 years?

When making the copy, some "includes" not passed.
In my case, I create a planner on a team channel.
And now I want to move things from that channel to a new team. I just can't move this planner to the new team.
They have some way of doing that and with all the "includes" of the existing tasks.
Even the copy function doesn't allow you to "paste" into another Team. You can only duplicate in your existing channel . Only allows to move to another channel in the same team. Note the Team name is not one of the editable attributes!
Good to see that, 3 years down the line, this is still not implemented. Yaaawwwnnn.....Microsleep....
