Allow users to enable push to talk in group meetings
Allow the users to configure to enable push to talk in group meetings.

Thank you for your feedback. This feature is still on the backlog, and planned for later this year.
In the meantime, you can try using the keyboard shortcut to toggle mute (Ctrl+Shift+M). For more info on keyboard shortcuts, visit https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/keyboard-shortcuts-for-microsoft-teams-2e8e2a70-e8d8-4a19-949b-4c36dd5292d2.

Dev's Can we get a Time Estimate? As this is a need not a want and could be very effective and essential in Microsoft Teams as the Crtl + Shift + M is awkward and clunky and not greatly intuitive. Also to allow it to be customizable so you could remap it from space to a different letter.

How hard can it be to implement this?
Been looking jealous to my dears zoom meetings where "hold space to unmute" is used -

Any news on this? We are switching to discord because this feature is still missing.

Incredible that you need years!!!!! for implementing such an easy feature, it is a QUICK FIX compared to many other features! Please put it on higher prio!

I can't believe such a simple thing hasn't been implemented yet. Shocking. Discord has had this feature since inception and Zoom also has this. This isn't looking good, Microsoft.

how is this not implemented. we wouldn't have to use zoom if it wasn't for not having this.

This is such a basic feature of every one of Microsoft's competitors' solutions I find it hard to believe this hasn't been implemented yet. As quiz commented below please allow each user to specify exactly which key they wish to use for ptt.

It's almost the end of the year. Any update this, as this would help prevent some embarrassing and awkward moments.

If/when this gets implemented, I really hope the designers realize that spacebar would be *very* inconvenient given it's frequent usage outside the scope of the voice-chat, it would be one of, if not the *worst* choice.
The user needs to be able to set the keyboard (or input in general) command they personally choose as all of us have our own variances of duties.
by default the ` key would be ideal since it's very rarely used.
others may opt for a right hand controlled key such as \
but programmers and other IT folk would probably find this annoying...others still may prefer something such as the numpad + key, since it's within reach of the right thumb while mousing
or even better, those with additional mouse buttons (or a foot pedal) could utilize those as a hotkey for Push-to-talk
Considering this has been a standard feature in group based VOIP chats since at least 2004 (and standard on radio communications since their inception) I am amazed teams/skype/lync has still inexplicably never implemented a PTT feature.
