Sharepoint tab linked to a list, a library or even a specific view
At present, when adding a SharePoint tab, you can only link to a site. Since sites may be shared among several teams, team members will still have to browse the site to find material relevant for the actual channel. It would be nice if a tab could pull up a specific custom list, library or even a specific view of a library. That would keep stuff on the site in context for that particular channel.
Pinning the entire document library is supported today. Learn more here, https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/add-a-sharepoint-page-or-list-to-a-channel-in-teams-131edef1-455f-4c67-a8ce-efa2ebf25f0b.
We currently do not support pinning a specific folder, but we are considering this feature.

Additionally, it would be good to be able to add a particular SharePoint folder as a tab, and not the whole library.

This would be really useful. Our department has one Sharepoint document library with subfolders for individual projects. At the moment, when we add a Sharepoint tab to a channel it is only able to point to the top level library.
We would like to be able to display a specific library subfolder in each channel so appropriate documents are easily accessible.
This definitely be added. We need the ability to just add a single file and not an entire document library.

Fully agree with Andre, it's tedious
I can share a single file from Sharepoint with the team but it does not appear in Teams. Instead I have to share a whole library - not very handy.

I couldn't use documents form shapoing in the new tabs. Please!

We can add a SP document library, but we cant add a specific view of that document library. With various people or teams working in the same SP library, we create various views for various teams. Thus adding a specific SP library view instead of "just" the full library helps in sorting and collaborating

I was going to suggest the ability to add sharepoint files as tabs, but thank you for pointing out that it's already there in a rather convoluted way.

The process to adding a sharepoint file as a tab is very confusing. I figured it out after about 30min. you have to add the library and then click on the document. I would suggest you add the ability to just directly add a file from sharepoint as a tab without going through the process of adding the entire doc lib. Even if you are doing it in the background.
