Sharepoint tab linked to a list, a library or even a specific view
At present, when adding a SharePoint tab, you can only link to a site. Since sites may be shared among several teams, team members will still have to browse the site to find material relevant for the actual channel. It would be nice if a tab could pull up a specific custom list, library or even a specific view of a library. That would keep stuff on the site in context for that particular channel.
This item is still in the works.
Also, thank you for the additional feedback. I will circle back to the feature team and provide a new update soon.
We would want to have a direct link of the folder from SharePoint to be shown in Microsoft Teams.
So that when we open it, we don't need to find that folder and locate the sub-folder. So it's useless to select that option and give the direct link of that folder in where the program fixed it to SharePoint Document location only... Please, please have that option for us to link the direct location of the folder...
Thank you and looking forward for the action of MS Teams team!

This request seems misleading. I can already add tabs that link directly to certain Sharepoint content like a list, a folder etc. by just using the tab type website and putting in the URL for the Sharepoint object.
What does not work though is within the files tab to add cloud storage linking to a certain folder of a Sharepoint library.

Yes, It is absolutely required..!!
This is really needed it!
We use a Program Sharepoint site with unique library but folder per project, each project could have a different teams group because are different people involved but I am not able to include a tab with the relevant folder using the current options in teams. I do not want to use the Teams Group sharepoint library, I want to use the one defined on the Program site library (e.g. sharepoint folder of other group)
One workaround that I am using is opening as a URL, but has one limitation: if you change to another tab and back to this URL tab is opening again the initial URL no the last point you left.

Yes, this sounds similar to what my organization needs. We want to be able to have one folder of a document library appear in the files tab of two different teams.
I've added a Tab in Teams that connects to a SP List. List in SP translates just fine (from French to English). Yet in teams there's no translation so it's French. We need the ability to translate.
I also would like ability to add a Tab in Team that connects to Legacy SharePoint List.
Useful for a small Team to have access to a specific List on SP. Already have broken permissions on the legacy SP and granted Read permission to the O365 group of the Team. Just cannot get a List connector. Has Library and Documents but not granular to List only.

Exactly. Total pain. Sharepoint, Teams, etc. is all a mess. Like Google designed it.
Current SharePoint Document Library Tab only supports adding the root folder of the SharePoint library. Most teams/users need a way to get to specific folders on other SharePoint Sites/Libraries and having a Tab from within Teams will be great way to enable this capability.

this is necessary based on the drive to push for use of metadata - Teams is the fastest growing collaborative system, this needs to be implemented.
I need this ASAP. I've worked hard to get my users to add metadata to libraries. Now we're ready to introduce Teams., This sets me back so far!
Currently we can only add lists that are inside a team, which doesn't really work for us. We have lists we work on that are present on other sites (e.g. time tracking).
Adding them as a website works but it's really clunky, it would be great if it was added as a SharePoint list.

SharePoint doc library is setup in a tree structure to coincide with individual client cases. The lawyer teams setup in MSTeams who must work with their specific client case must be able to access the sub-folder and the many sub-sub-folders associated with their case and no other case due to privacy issues.
Microsoft Teams must have the ability to link to a specific folder within SharePoint Document Libraries.
We have a project archive with seperate project folder in sharepoint. In teams I would like to link specific subfolder of our sharepoint archiv to a specific team.

Hello, this is so true and it's very annoying. A lot of time is wasted having to navigate back to the used file.
Hi, is there any update on this feature? I see that the Teams UI has the ability to add SharePoint lists but it only displays lists on the actual team site and doesn't allow entry of a URL to an external SharePoint list.
Have I got this right? - it would seem this misses the point

This needs to allow cross-tenant linking of Sharepoint document libraries - when we have guests from an external tenant, we need to be able to link the library on a tab in (possibly) an internal team
Currently adding a Sharepoint document library assumes it's in the current tenant instead of allowing a URL of any other valid Sharepoint document library
Lists are glaringly missing, these are very useful to track various things , for now I 've had to add and excel tab - ugly and a backwards step. e.g. list of pilot users data, list of issues
I've added a few tabs linking to different SharePoint pages, they all belong in the same Teams SharePoint Online site. On Teams Desktop, none of the pages will load unless I load a tab linking to Home first. And I don't need to load Home of the existing group, even if I load Home from a different group, then the other pages will then load, but if I don't do this, I get nothing, no even an error. This is weird ...
