Forwarding message feature!
Title speaks for itself :) That would be really cool.
Love you, MT!
This is still under review, no decision has been made. But I will keep following up with the feature team and providing them your feedback.

only after having worked in software development for many years, I kinda understand (and hate with extra passion) the fact that such basic feature cannot be decided in 3 years
oh well back to sending screenshots of messages.
Yet another basic feature that Teams lacks
Any update on this feature?
Basic functionality in every modern chat - to be able to forward any message / picture / GIF / emoji / file / link from one chat to another. Very basic, very needed. You already support it in the mobile app so why not in the desktop one?

This is basic functionality in many messengers. I think I'll switch to WhatsApp desktop as it they seem to be able to do the basics.
Fixing this should be priority of update. I should use a mobile phone at work just to use this function on a computer, which is not productive at all while this program is for productivity.
Is there seriously no forwarding function on the desktop app? :D Just started using teams when starting a new job. This is insane. I guess. I will do a print-screen snippet and send as a image...
This issiue have been up since 2017?!...

It is really needed when one colleague redirect me to other I need just resend all messages with problem description again.
For a productivity application to be missing a feature that forces the user to waste time and be unproductive - having to copy badly and paste - is unfathomable. You clearly have the feature available on the mobile version. Why is not on the desktop and web-versions?
it is unbelievable that this is missing in the desktop app!
Would have loved to be a fly on the wall when this feature was discussed and someone said it's not important enough...
I need to go to my phone and forward messages (e.g., screenshots), while working on my laptop...
As you can do a LOT more with emails than you can with a chat in Microsoft Teams -- in terms of organizing and filing the information, as well as, handling emails in other ways (such as applying rules) -- it would be very helpful to be able to forward Microsoft Teams message as an email.
There are add-ins for the phone which forwards text messages as emails, but seems to be nothing for Microsoft Teams.
I hope this feature will be implemented soon. As mentioned several times below. It is embarrassing not to have this feature :-). It is part of any basic messaging system.

The number of BASIC features that Teams doesn't have is astounding. If I wasn't stuck with this thing, I would dump it in a minute. There sure is a lack of intelligence from Microsoft on this one.
Seriously, this doesn't exist?
This is a prerequisite for a real messaging system. This basic feature was solved years ago by the software you compete with.

Please add this feature like most other chat systems support this allready!
