Add the ability to " Quick Print " a file without having to download or open in sharepoint
I want to have the ability to print a file without having to download it or opening Sharepoint. A "Quick Print" option would be 100% great
If you open any Office document to view it from within Microsoft Teams just go to the File menu and hit Print. No need to download, screenshot or open in the rich client app.
This case is marked as "We Have This" and I can assure you you don't.
Going to the file menu and hitting print for a Word Document fails, clicking the link option sends you to a 404 error.
Please resolve this.
Just read an article from 4 years ago about this issue. Glad to see they are working diligently to fix this.
Why not getting this done with that agressively advertised Universal Printers?

@admin is there any update on when this functionality will work again?
@admin - recommended functionality currently does not work. Only way how to print is to open doc in online app (word, excell, ...)

It is not working in Microsoft Teams version 1.4.00.19572 (64-bit). The link to open a PDF results in a 404 error message.

Please add the printing option back within Teams for printing Word docs, Excel Spreadsheets or Powerpoints. If you have removed the feature please remove the print option. It is very misleading to click print and it not present you with the preview then the option of which printer to print to.
We NEED to be able to print directly from Teams without the hassle of opening documents outside of Teams
the fact that we cannot print directly from Teams is a HUGE hassle. Can't believe we have to download first... what is the point of saving documents in Teams if you have to save them in two places to print anything because this simple functionality is missing in the Teams site... makes Teams useless in my opinion. FIX THIS PLEASE!

UPDATE: as of this date, May 17, 2021, We Do Not Have It. It does not print directly to any attached printers. It does say, "All done. Your file is ready to print. Open PDF". Opening the PDF presents options to print, however there is an extra step. Also, from a security standpoint, what happens to the PDF that was created? Is it saved somewhere on the users computer or is it saved somewhere within the onedrive/sharepoint environment.
HOWEVER, it is notable that using Teams from the online Office Portal the printing functions as expected and takes you directly to the print options. It does present some option to save as PDF.

The ability to print from a desktop app to a user's attached printer(s) should be and should have been a requirement as a part of the original release of Microsoft Teams. When my customers discover they can't they turn their heads sideways and present a look implying why did we migrate to MS365.
Teams is advertised as a core app alongside the Office apps with Microsoft 365 Business. It's basic functions should be specified the same way.
Not being able to print directly from the Teams desktop app creates a severe negative experience for the customer. Consider the customer who after a migration from G Suite says, "we could always print from Google."
you say you have this but when i attempt to print a document from inside Teams it wants to create a PDF, i don't need a PDF. I need to print the Word doc in Word format.
You can't print a PDF from within Teams...
I might understand the absence of basic tools like this and others if Teams were a free product written by a startup company in the 90s (tabs?). But you've managed to get people to pay for it somehow. Really, I'm speechless (and extraordinarily frustrated).

We need to be able to print PDF's and other files direct from Teams without having to open each file then go to another link.

We need to export a channel to send to a customer. print to PDF would be the way to go.

Agreed, we want this too, the possibility to print pdfs, more docs at the same time etc.
Why does it open to pdf just print through the word doc off through Teams??????

As a teacher, it's incredibly time consuming to open every document I am marking or editing in Teams. Particularly this year when I need to print off work as 'evidence' of meeting grades due to teacher assessed grades being used instead of examinations.
I don't understand why I can't even do this is in assignments!
Would be really useful
in a folder i can right click a file and print. I don't have to open the file. In addition I can select several files, right click and print them all.
In teams I have to open every file individually and print each one
