Allow organizer to end meetings
People should not have to manually leave meetings in order for them to end. We have had several people forget to manually leave meetings, and the channel continues to show that a meeting is in progress when in fact it has ended.
The organizer of channel meetings should be able to 'end' meetings altogether instead of simply leaving the meeting space.
As stated last week, based on the volume of recent feedback, we fast-tracked adding the ability for meeting organizers to end a meeting for all participants with the click of a button. This was released to the public ring today.
In addition, the team has begun working on an option requiring everyone other than the meeting organizer to go thru the lobby. Once that feature is available, attendees will be placed in the lobby when rejoining the meeting. As our school division moves to Teams for online learning, we need to make sure that scheduled meetings aren't used by students after the meeting time as a place for private chat. Privacy concerns demand that we can end a meeting permanently.
We will have no choice shortly but to abandon MS teams as a school due to this ongoing safeguarding issue. MS either fix this or we have no choice but to move to Google Classrooms
I totally agree with this!
Very important - even if all students left the meeting, the meeting continues!
Its very urgent update from Microsoft.
On this CVOID 19 crisis situation,. Schools are moving to remote education. But in MS teams the basic option not there for meeting end.
I attached file, which meeting created 31.03.2020, still we can rejoin in this, still open students waste thier time.
I even have a problem that when a user joins via their desktop and they have to call in through their mobile (for audio because they have no mic/speakers or are on VDI), that I cannot kick them out of the meeting without administratively killing all their client sessions. Zoom has a button, and we have both on campus. Looking forward to the results of your testing.

Thanks, we hope that to be published by the next days.
We are using the MEET NOW feature as a work around right now! If you clear the room at the end of a "non-scheduled" LIVE Meet Now session we are NOT finding that students can get in EARLY (obviously) and they are NOT able to get back in after the organizer hangs up the phone!
We are almost at an Emergency status in regards to needing this feature! I want to say THANK YOU to ALL the hardworking engineers on the Microsoft Teams team! We appreciate you!
The MS Teams meeting can apparently even continue after everyone has left. Rejoining and leaving again does not help either. This gives you the creepy feeling that Big Brother is still watching you. I will now reboot my PC to see whether that will do the trick.

How can this be an add on feature? This is basic. My old links are still valid if shared via email. A simple button that says end meeting. Should not be that hard.
I teach at JAMS (Seattle Public school); yesterday my first Team meeting. The librarian at our school emailed this morning stating I was still on the meeting, even i though clicked on the red camera to end. Today I went to the chat feature to leave the chat room and it states " Organizer can't leave the chat room" - craziest thing ever.
Need assistance on ending this chat.
Other issues: Before realizing that I was muted (not the 77 students on-line) - students took over , coup d'etat. Students quickly starting sending and covering the screen with pictures (see attachment) and invented fake or invisible attendees - who are not students. How on earth could they do this? Is it possible to to remove CHAT feature and only allow at end of conversation.
LOVE the all mute feature - please give this person a bonus!
I'm sure you understand but this is URGENT for schools. Students joining Early and Students returning to meetings and are unmonitored!
Well - using it at school is almost impossible at the moment - because of that...

I have seen people going into meetings that have ended. People lost in a chat for a meeting that has ended. People joining the wrong meeting because the previous meeting is still on their screen, and it says JOIN in big letters so they do notice the title of meeting is not what they are searching for. And when one goes in others do too because they think they are missing something. Chain the join to an unclickable meeting has ended.
I just did a lesson with my students and returned 10 minutes later to find 5 students still in the room having a social conversation. I had assumed that when I, as the organizer, left the room it would shut it down. Clearly not the case! I do not want to be held responsible for what they do in a meeting room while I'm not present. This is an urgent fix given the current circumstances.

As a school that is starting to use Teams due to closures, this tool is being exposed as such a useful tool and our teachers are LOVING it, but we need more control over things like this to prevent students from participating in online sessions (video, chat, etc.) without a teacher present. Thank you for your consideration!!
Agreed... would be a highly used feature.

As more teachers are using TEAMS, we need to be able to end a call from our end. Thank you.
