Allow organizer to end meetings
People should not have to manually leave meetings in order for them to end. We have had several people forget to manually leave meetings, and the channel continues to show that a meeting is in progress when in fact it has ended.
The organizer of channel meetings should be able to 'end' meetings altogether instead of simply leaving the meeting space.
As stated last week, based on the volume of recent feedback, we fast-tracked adding the ability for meeting organizers to end a meeting for all participants with the click of a button. This was released to the public ring today.
In addition, the team has begun working on an option requiring everyone other than the meeting organizer to go thru the lobby. Once that feature is available, attendees will be placed in the lobby when rejoining the meeting. (Please see this UV item – https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/38309602).

Lost 10 minutes of my life looking for this, must be a bug cause it isn't a feature. :-)
ridiculous that this isn't already a thing. Get to is MS!
Another vote for this. Absolutely essential. Teachers do not walk out of the room at the end of a class and leave students there unsupervised - as should also be the case in an on-line classroom.
If you are playing in the education space for real Microsoft, then address the essential issues in a timely manner!
I assumed this should already be a feature

Should allow organizer to end the meeting !
Makes no sense why and meeting host/owner can not end a meeting. One 30 mins meeting could go on for hours. Please implement solution ASAP....thank you!

This is a key feature for high school classes so students don't get up to no good when teacher is not around. We are a school with 860 students, 100 teachers, who need to teach remotely due to coronovirus quarantine. This is key to making Teams a part of our remote learning plans.
This is a huge problem! For security reasons, professionalism, and to avoid confusion, the organizer needs to be able to end the meeting. I can't believe this isn't an option.

Hi. I would also like to say that this needs to be changed. The organiser should be able to end the call with a single click. I am a primary school teacher, also doing virtual school because of the coronavirus. I teach 7 year olds. The first time we finished the meeting, I said "bye" and hung up and then after leaving the call, I could see that there were still several kids "in the room". I had to stay in the meeting room with them until they were all gone to make sure they would leave. It really would help if I were able to just end the call.
In addition to this, I don't like how the students can just join in meetings whenever they like. For example, I might be having a meeting with a coteacher, and all of a sudden a kid joins our meeting. Is there a way to "close" the meetings?
This happened to me just now. I ended up cancelling the meeting after it already occurred. This stopped it.
Here in our school district we are trying to use Teams meetings because of the coronoa virus outbreak and our Teachers can't end the meeting? Insane... kids can stay and chat and then the teacher can never upload to Stream because it's still going on. Please make a fix asap.
no way to end a meeting. please add a menu or windows convention "x" in top right to initiate a close to the session.

I hope Microsoft can do something about this missing feature. It's really annoying..
In particular we are finding this to be an issue when coupled with the limited minute allocation from the "Audio Conferencing" add on license. Organizers should be able to shut down a meeting and disconnect everyone from the call, or have a configurable time to shut down the meeting. A hard stop where the meeting ends, with a warning 5 minutes and one minute before. This issue is exacerbated by the fact that Microsoft decreased the number of PTSN minutes included in the Audio Conferencing license from 900 to 60. Really disappointing.

There should be an option in the security settings, if Organizer leaves, to Terminate Meeting Immediately, or after x minutes, or never... and give the organizer a Button to End Meeting

My meeting recording is stuck in limbo due to my inability to end the meeting.
This has become a deployment show stopper for us!

I initiated a meeting - I cannot end the meeting. All users are connected even if I quit teams and relaunch I am asked to join. The only way to end the session is if the invitee ends the call!
This renders Teams useless for meetings.

Absolutely baffled that this did not already exist as a feature.
With any other meeting platform the organizer has the ability to terminate the meeting.
