Allow organizer to end meetings
People should not have to manually leave meetings in order for them to end. We have had several people forget to manually leave meetings, and the channel continues to show that a meeting is in progress when in fact it has ended.
The organizer of channel meetings should be able to 'end' meetings altogether instead of simply leaving the meeting space.
As stated last week, based on the volume of recent feedback, we fast-tracked adding the ability for meeting organizers to end a meeting for all participants with the click of a button. This was released to the public ring today.
In addition, the team has begun working on an option requiring everyone other than the meeting organizer to go thru the lobby. Once that feature is available, attendees will be placed in the lobby when rejoining the meeting. Given the current COVID-19 pandemic I'm sure there are many people working remotely. Scheduling meetings through Teams is critical to our business. How can this get escalated? Does anyone have a work around solution?

Yes- completely agree. Especially with schools using TEAMS and the move to online learning. We need to be able to end meetings as students could have completely inappropriate conversations when the teacher leaves the room.
This seems like such a basic feature. Where are you on this @microsoft?
I am able to hover over student names and remove them from the chat, but when there is one student left, I no longer see the option to remove the student. The chat remains open with one student.

This is crucial if we are going to use this tool in schools for students. If we cant close the meeting the students will wreck havoc in "ghost meetings".
Yes please - as soon as possible!!
Please for the love of Christ fix this
We have rolled out Teams in our organisation but cannot tell the users to adopt Teams when we cannot guarantee it is safe to run meetings with external users due to this very basic feature being absent.
It is indeed a safeguarding risk in many scenarios. The option even exists in Skype for Business which is being retired soon which makes it all the more baffling that it is absent from Teams when Teams is supposed to replace all of the functionality of Skype.
Please implement this soon!
Thousands of students and staff from my school division are using Teams. Please make it worth our while to effectively end calls. Add a feature so the owner of the channel could end the meeting in one click!

In *all* formal scenarios, not just education, this is vital. We use Skype for public webinars; we need to be able to end the webinar when the meeting is over. (The irony of my comment is that I work for a state education agency...) Hang up only works in the generic "internal team" scenario.

Ditto the previous comment. "In education, this is vital." Again, in LAUSD, we are comparing Teams to Zoom features daily. 450,000 students and thousands of teachers are flocking to Zoom and not Teams.
In education this is vital.

Are this issue has been fixed? I have this issue too

This is ridiculous! Microsoft, if I'm the organizer of a meeting, when I say it's over, it should be over! If people want to continue to chat, they can do so in their own meetings.
IT'S BEEN THREE YEARS!!!!!! FIX THIS!
Looks like Zoom is the way to go.
Agree. There needs to be an option to end the meeting! Otherwise, the call will go on and on and if you are recording the session, it will continue to record blank silence.
This feature is a "must have" and should be corrected as soon as possible. We need to be able as the moderator or initiator of a call or meeting to end that meeting without others staying on the line or having attendees reenter the meeting later
This is absolutely required. If I am in charge of a class of secondary students, they should not be able to carry on with the meeting if I have left. Nver mind the bandwidth issues this could cause, this is a safeguarding issue.
How is this still not fixed?! This is pure insanity education. Sure you can force participants to leave, but they just click rejoin, and they're back. Worse, if they stay on the rejoin page and the owner leaves the meeting as the last participant, ending the meeting, the rejoin button still works and the ended meeting starts back up again.. As I type this, I have students in a meeting I can't end.
Teams meeting organiser should be able to end the meeting for all. Now the meeting continues even after the organiser exit from the meeting
