Allow organizer to end meetings
People should not have to manually leave meetings in order for them to end. We have had several people forget to manually leave meetings, and the channel continues to show that a meeting is in progress when in fact it has ended.
The organizer of channel meetings should be able to 'end' meetings altogether instead of simply leaving the meeting space.

As stated last week, based on the volume of recent feedback, we fast-tracked adding the ability for meeting organizers to end a meeting for all participants with the click of a button. This was released to the public ring today.
In addition, the team has begun working on an option requiring everyone other than the meeting organizer to go thru the lobby. Once that feature is available, attendees will be placed in the lobby when rejoining the meeting. (Please see this UV item – https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/38309602).
Thank you,
Alex & the Teams team

Kill the link after a meeting finalizes!!! If student's are apart of a scheduled meeting they can always go back to an old meeting link and chat. Kill the meeting, maybe connect it to the time frame, kill the link after the time expires!

I noticed the 'End meeting' feature added now but as an organiser even if I end meeting and delete it from my calendar, the link is still valid! and anyone in the organisation can still join the meeting.
is this feature still not complete?
Organiser should be able to invalidate the meeting link completely, please.

Please can it do a force 'leave' on participants so that they don't continue to chat once the meeting has ended? This would help us move from large 200+ Zoom meetings to Teams ones.

End the Meeting for good, also when Cancelling a meeting (usually before the meeting starts), don't let the link work.

Please confirm that what you are testing also removes the ability to join old links. We cannot as a school, for child safety reasons, facilitate students accessing old video conferences and then being able chat, show and do anything without a teacher present.
Also a confirmed date of release of this feature please? School goes back for us next week.

I noticed that the "end meeting" selection, wouldn't drop everyone from the meeting; if there was someone dialed in... only after the organizer disconnects the callers or the callers hangup; can the "end meeting" function drop everyone... but like others were saying, the link is still hot and anyone can rejoin.

I agree with MS Teams users that have asked Microsoft to make a change to allow the meeting organizer to end a meeting and not simply leave the meeting with people still in attendance. I am hopeful the next update can achieve this.

When working with students in K-12, we need that option to only have the meeting running while the teacher can monitor.

Can ending the meeting also disable the meeting functionalities such as writing on the whiteboard, chats, and exchanging files?

@Trevor, even if you cancel the meeting in the calendar, the organizer can not reestart the meeting, but anyone with the link sent to their email can access to the meeting, and if you go to the chat history, you can join the meeting again. This not good Microsoft, you need to pay attention to this immediately.
P.D. Also the link to join the meeting is send again in the cancelation email message, along with a "meeting options" link (I dont understand why)

IS this also going to include the ability to control when to open the meeting. Technically once it is scheduled, people can join. Again, for schools this disastrous. So far, we have to schedule the meeting as close to the calendar time so people don't go in early, then after it is recorded we cancel it in the calendar. Not a great workaround....

It would be best if the organizer would be the only one to start a meeting, and when the organizer of the meeting ends the meeting everyone else is kicked out of the meeting.

Meetings should end when organizer leaves or pass the organizer role to another users just like in Zoom. I dont understand why Microsoft teams is so far behind. Also, users can return to the sessions without the presence of the organizer. The meeting session should not be available after the time scheduled has finished or the organizer leaves, or at least the session should become obsolete after 30 or 60 minutes.
