Handle transparency in Team icons. Currently an image with transparency will display transparent areas black.
Also amazed to find this... very ******. :-/

I'm not even a real web developer, but even I was using transparent backgrounds in the 90s.
Totally fail to understand why my transparent logo does not work in Teams in the year 2019.
First thing I wanted to do when setting up a team, disappointing in 2019 that icons aren't transparent!
Setting up Teams and noticed this annoying issue. Nice to see this hasn't been fixed in a year and a half.

Well... they've always struggled with transparent pngs... But it looks like MS is intentionally messing this up, since the Electron based desktop app and Edge use chromium...

How has this not even been fixed or even acknowledged in a year and a half?

It clearly shows MS's commitment to the product
Has this been resolved?

Also, when re-uploading non-transparent icons, I have to uninstall and re-install Teams Windows app for the refreshed icons to appear.

I try to bring this up again because I cannot understand why this is not working for a modern software. Please fix to support a transparent background in profile / teams images.

Please do, its very surprising for a product to not support transparent images these days.

I had a icon that didn't work well at all with a black background - had to fill it in with white, but that looks sub-par on places where the icon is shown with a grey background... transparency support please.
Yea, use of transparent images which Teams convert transparency to black looks pretty bad. Supporting transparency in profile images would be great!

Having just spent ages trying to produce a version of our logo with transparency, I then upload it to Teams only for the transparent parts to go black!

There has been this issue since the first release of Microsoft Teams. Could you please fix it? It's very annoying when configuring teams.
