Quoting previous Messages
A collegue of mine discovered this in markdown formatting (if you include a ">" before a paragraph it formats it as a quote, then 2xShift+Return to exit quote). This is a useful feature when trying to give context to a response that occurs later in a conversation thread.
Quoting should be a more integrated feature. I'm picturing a "quote" button below the message window that when you select it, it opens another window where you can select a message you want to quote. The tool should automatically date/time stamp the quote, format it the same as the markdown method, and perhaps make it so that clicking the quote would bring you to that part in the conversation.

This is a most needed feature! It is difficult to track a conversation in a team with many people on it without quoting.
Yep, when this will be available, please?

Hi "MS Teams" Team,
Could you please, please, expedite this feature?
Thank you so much.
It is really needed. Please implement it as a Christmas gift!
It can be done in the Android app as well, but still missing in the desktop application.

Can we have the timelines for general availability?
On Desktop there is a "Code Snippet" Function that works in a similar fashion
For a single line of code snip do: ` TEXT `
` = (button to the left of 1)
For a block/multiple lines of code/quote do:
``` (same key as above, directly to the left of 1)
When you do ```, then hit your [Space Bar] it will automatically create a block you can freely do new lines with [Return]
Most needed one in desktop Application..!!!
