Change which Tab is default landing page for a Team and/or Channel
Right now the conversation tab is the default landing page for a Team and/or Channel.
I want to be able to have a SharePoint site landing page in a tab and that tab be the default tab open when you navigate to a team or channel.
Think of it like a landing page for that team. You may not want it to drop right into Conversations. If you can have a SharePoint page with a Microsoft Teams conversations web part, you get the best of both worlds.
I can see a lot of scenarios where you'd want the chat window open and another tab at the same time. Rather than having to context switch. Imagine the SharePoint page tab being the way to do that by using Web Parts on a dashboard. A web part for the Microsoft Team and another web part for whatever was in another tab.
I apologize for not having updated this. Changing the landing page for a Team and/or Channel remains on the backlog at this time.

Please add this feature. It would be helpful for our Government Team.

It looks like the request to have the ability to arrange tabs has been suggested for more than 3.5 years......when do you anticipate it getting off the backlog list?

Agree with: Both this, and removing/hiding the "General" Tab should be done ASAP.

NEEDED!!! I am building a conference event using MS Teams and need a "lobby" type registration landing page rather than posts as the default.

Yes--this is NEEDED! Trying to transition multiple departments to Teams and this would make things so much easier.

Seems like a basic UX function that should have been added near day 1. You are halfway there with the ability to reorganize the manually added tabs. It's like that insurance commercial with the old guy, the fishing rod, and the dollar on the hook, "oooohh, you almost had it...."

Hello,
In my honest opinion, this should be a must. Channels are usually created for a single purpouse, being allowed to define which the default tab is, would provide to that channel the correct use it has been created for.
Thanks for your support and development.

Agreed. When can we have the landing page as default and ablity to set soon...

Would love this functionality as well! We should be able to edit navigation to the most important/relevant topics when a user clicks a channel.

Update? This is a huge feature for us. Not everyone wants to see the conversation thread. Having this one option would allow me to get a number of SharePoint (on prem) communities into Team and SharePoint Online. I need a better "front door" for them to land on.

The video linked here was created by Microsoft Education to show how to create a Home Page in Teams, but what is the purpose if the Home Page is a tab that members need to click on to find? A Home Page should be what the Team opens to by default. Please fix.

Alex, good afternoon, being able to modify the landing page from chat to files or wiki, etc. seems like a basic ask, but it would enhance the use of MS Teams channels by reducing the required direction to use the channel. How can this be moved from the backlog to production after 3,904 votes?

With all of the online training and online meetings, the ability to configure an appropriate landing tab would be valuable in gaining buy-in from my users.

Please look into this. All my staff want to go straight to their files as we do not use the conversation function at all.

Definitely need this. Would help with onboarding to have teams direct to a SP page or wiki by default instead of the posts tab.
