Change which Tab is default landing page for a Team and/or Channel
Right now the conversation tab is the default landing page for a Team and/or Channel.
I want to be able to have a SharePoint site landing page in a tab and that tab be the default tab open when you navigate to a team or channel.
Think of it like a landing page for that team. You may not want it to drop right into Conversations. If you can have a SharePoint page with a Microsoft Teams conversations web part, you get the best of both worlds.
I can see a lot of scenarios where you'd want the chat window open and another tab at the same time. Rather than having to context switch. Imagine the SharePoint page tab being the way to do that by using Web Parts on a dashboard. A web part for the Microsoft Team and another web part for whatever was in another tab.
I apologize for not having updated this. Changing the landing page for a Team and/or Channel remains on the backlog at this time.

Help! This is an issue. Especially for end users who are intimidated by Teams. Changing the default tab would allow for us to provide immediate access to the proper tab for the end user thereby eleviating stress and increasing the desire to use the program.

How do we get this off the backlog and into production? The ability to set what a team sees when they first access a channel or team is pretty critical to managing the flow of work and information for the team. I am trying to adopt Teams to better use it and promote it within my workplace however, some of the missing options such as this make it difficult to find the application user friendly.

PLEASE make it where I can set Documents (or tab of my choice) as the default tab!

Adding to all the comments below. Currently the conversations tab being displayed as landing page is unnecessarily confusing. Really need to be able to use one of the other tabs (existing or new). Please make it happen! :)

Changing the default landing tab in a team or channel would be indeed very much desired. For me, I would like to have the "Flies'' tab as default landing tab. And anyone can have any other preference and that's this defintily needs to be a setting for users to change they want to.
Come on Microsoft! You have solved bigger issues...

Like many commenting here, we just started using Teams and this capability seems extremely important to making teams effective and efficient. Now I'll have to add additional, potentially confusing, instructions on how to get to what we want to be the landing page.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE
It is obviously a need if the conversation has been ongoing for 3+ years.
We use Teams to host Apps and would like the App be the default open for each respective channel. -

Just using Teams since Monday and this is the first thing I wish I could have done, this is really missing. And I'll have to explain many times to my colleagues... frustrating

I am looking forward to this change!

frustrating that you can't change this in settings or it won't just save on the last thing used, I would rather open to files that I need not posts.

What a shame...
Not productive at all, no shortcut with teams we have to click, click and click.
Please update, we all need it ;-) -

Posts and Files are empty in a channel, how to see that the 3rd tab (created) contains informations / tasks ? I wish that this tab is the landing tab when opening.

Me too. Worse than having to make an extra click every time I go to my content is the painful need to repeatedly explain to my co-workers how to find the most relevant information within my channel. Setting my own default tab would be SO intuitive and would rank higher on my list than some other whistling bell on Marketing's feature list.

It can be so simple. Simply add a button "Set as Default Tab" to the Tab settings window.
And if a tab is already default, the button is greyed out (disabled) and if not then you can press it. -
