Change which Tab is default landing page for a Team and/or Channel
Right now the conversation tab is the default landing page for a Team and/or Channel.
I want to be able to have a SharePoint site landing page in a tab and that tab be the default tab open when you navigate to a team or channel.
Think of it like a landing page for that team. You may not want it to drop right into Conversations. If you can have a SharePoint page with a Microsoft Teams conversations web part, you get the best of both worlds.
I can see a lot of scenarios where you'd want the chat window open and another tab at the same time. Rather than having to context switch. Imagine the SharePoint page tab being the way to do that by using Web Parts on a dashboard. A web part for the Microsoft Team and another web part for whatever was in another tab.
I apologize for not having updated this. Changing the landing page for a Team and/or Channel remains on the backlog at this time.
we need to personnalize this view to have it as closer as possible than the way we work.
Yes please consider the options to either hide Posts tab or allow each org to set a default tab to open at launch. Would be most helpful to facilitate user acceptance and reduced clicks. thx.
please do something about this...
Hi Alex - Is this still on the backlog?
I always accidently "read" messages because its of this, I then have to intentionally click into an old chat just to make sure I don't see the message
Dear Microsoft Teams Engineering team,
we are a huge company using teams now and for europe I am the one who shows how things go. But this question has to be answered the same, everytime someone starts setting up channels... We use those channels for all kinds of things and having the ability to select the default tab would make life much easier for all users. Imagine you would have a newspaper and I would tell you what is on page 1, or i would run a chat in the middle of the homepage of your news website.
Teams is such a powerfull tool, not only for Posting stuff.
how is it possible that this feature is in the backlog since so many years? we really need it ASAP!
Please let the user decide which tab order to use.
Being able to sort and set default Teams / Channels and Tabs is essential to the overall successful user experience in Teams. Lack of flexibility in MY user experience is perhaps the number one reason I have not yet adopted Teams wholeheartedly -- why take a step backwards when other apps / environments allow things to work the way I do, rather than expecting me to work the way they dictate.
It's a shame for Microsoft, that this topic will soon celebrate its 4 birthday.
Microsoft: Start implementing things users really need (see above count: 4362) instead of implementing only bells and whistles.
A "must have" feature! This would improve the user experience so much, make the navigation in Teams easier and the integration of SharePoint sitepages more useful...
It seems as something obvious, but has been sitting here for over 3 years.
Please, could you consider this feature? --> out of backlog and set it in motion
same as what this person said: "Just using Teams since Monday and this is the first thing I wish I could have done, this is really missing. And I'll have to explain many times to my colleagues... frustrating"
Seriously -- we need this capability!
This is an important feature for an educational use. That could help Teams to reach better the prerequisit for a virtual learning environment.

Please add this feature to Teams. I'm probably in the minority here but I don't use Teams for chat or conversations because we are a small company. We use it to keep projects organized. Would love to be able to set a different tab as the primary landing page for a channel. For us, the conversation page is useless.
This feature will help my organisation. Chat is not primary. Please make the landing zone flexible
Please allow users to set a default Tab in Teams.
Im yet to find a User wanting "Posts" as their default.
Being able to have my team land on a tab other than conversations is important to adopting use of Teams for everyday workflow
When trying to get people on board to use teams, it would be very useful to have an option to reassign landing page. This is useful for my older technophobes when trying to convince them using teams is a good idea.
