Change which Tab is default landing page for a Team and/or Channel
Right now the conversation tab is the default landing page for a Team and/or Channel.
I want to be able to have a SharePoint site landing page in a tab and that tab be the default tab open when you navigate to a team or channel.
Think of it like a landing page for that team. You may not want it to drop right into Conversations. If you can have a SharePoint page with a Microsoft Teams conversations web part, you get the best of both worlds.
I can see a lot of scenarios where you'd want the chat window open and another tab at the same time. Rather than having to context switch. Imagine the SharePoint page tab being the way to do that by using Web Parts on a dashboard. A web part for the Microsoft Team and another web part for whatever was in another tab.
This feature is still in the backlog.

Teams should remember the last tab. If it was a file tab, then it should remember the position within the file hierarchy.

This seems like a trivial thing to do, literally the first thing my users ask when i introduce them to Teams is, "why do i have to click on the channel and then click on the Files Tab? can't you just set it to show the Files Tab by default..."
I'm joining the chorus and ask when will this feature be available?
Any update on the implementation of this feature? This is one of the major roadblocks of broader adoption of Teams in my group.
Has this feature been implemented yet? Would love to have Wiki page as the default landing page. Thank you for status update.

Agreed. I need to be able to default to a Power BI report that has been added as a tab.
I use teams a lot and would also to see my chats based on who activity and messages received in group and individual chat. Something like inbox which high unread chats etc.
I use Teams a lot and this is honestly one of my biggest complaints. I would like a channel to display the tab of my choice when I open it, not the "conversations" tab by default.

Another School here, would you please listen to your customers and give this option a higher priority! I do not want my class pages, or any channel come to think of it, landing on the conversation tab first. Give us the option pease.

I am not sure that this is so much a request for a feature. It is more like, I would like a "feature" removed. While in Teams, I can change the order of the tabs by click-dragging the tab. But, if I try to drag my custom tab to the spot before "Conversation" or "Files", it gets moved to the #3 position (after Conversation and Files). So... I can move the tabs. But, the "Feature" is that I can't make it 1st... which I would presume would also make it the default tab to view. So, instead of adding to your workload and asking you to complete this... backlog?... how about you send me the small chunk of code that handles the moving of the tabs, I will delete the syntax that says "Don't allow the user to put the tab in the #1 or #2 position" and you can then compile that into your nightly builds. DONE!

18 months on the backlog...
For a K-12 school, most would prefer landing on a page about the subject or classroom rather than the disorderly conversation tab page. Every time a student or teacher clicks on the Team they will almost immediately have to click away from the Conversations tab. Even in the better Microsoft's demo for Teams used in education, the picture that displays on the demo would be a picture of a topic for a subject where people can understand instead of the Conversations page.
Trying to push people to use a product a certain way never works!!! Let your customers decide how best your product fits them. Trying to push everyone to conversations doesn't work "for most" and it certainly doesn't work for every single channel built on Teams.
@warren any update here? This is another that would be useful for the teams site that we are managing
Any update on this? Would certainly increase the usability.
I can't figure out how to set my default open page like I do in a browser. Every time I open this I'm some place new and have to waste time navigating to where I *really* want to be. Is there a setting for this?

Please add this feature

+1 on this feature. Shouldn't be too hard to introduce a local app setting that allows the user to configure which tab opens by default in each channel. - Global setting and channel setting would be ideal, but at very least a channel option would be most beneficial!
