Have the download function of files allow you to select the destination
Currently files are downloaded only to the DOWNLOAD folder. Allow a save as function / select download location.
Unfortunately because of changing priorities, this feature was moved to the backlog. The team hopes to pick it up again in the near future.
so, if I have a file, and I need to work on it separately from the original......I can't download it (where did it go) and I can't save as.....What do I do to work on it separately so that it does NOT change the original?
I don't get how such a simple request initated as early as mid 2017 is still lingering in some backlog ??
Man, if I could take 2 years to work on something only to just move it to the backlog, my life would be stress free!

A save to cloud storage option such as OneDrive for Business and SharePoint would be awesome
We need it

Please include support for the images pasted to the chat, so we can "save as" pictures from the chat..
Is "Warren" still working on this project / in the same role?
I have to acknowledge that the early communication was quite good, with four posts made from 21 February 2018 to 06 July 2018.
Has Microsoft moved "Warren" off this task?
It is hard to believe it would be released without this feature, but even harder to believe it could take more than one year to implement.
The Firefox browser also has such a feature, where users can choose to EITHER automatically save everything in their Downloads folder OR always be asked where they'd like to save each file.
Personally I cannot understand why anyone other than a complete novice would prefer the first option.
do we have it yet?
Just a suggestion: Perhaps instead of stating, "Working on it", and then failing to post any progress for one and a half years, you could share what the difficulty or road block is to this?
It's been awhile since I was developing full time, but as I recall this is a trivial method to implement.
Is it even one line of code?
Metaphorically speaking, you have a very large crowd gathered outside with torches and pitch forks, angry as all get out, and you appear to be gathered behind the castle walls feasting and drinking with no concern for the people outside.

This is typical of Microsoft - removing useful features, just like they did with Skype. If my company didn't force us to use this crappy app I would never use it.
LOL it's 2020 and this basic feature is still missing. What a joke.
I just started using Teams today. The very first thing I did was try to download 20 images from a colleague to a specific folder on my PC.
Funny how they added "dark mode" but forgot to add "save as" when downloading files!

Come on! Do it already! And your app is taking over Slack! Unbelievable
Is this feature on the horizon in the near future? I believe this was requested in 2017.

Please let us know when this feature will be ready !
"Working on it" for 2 years. Microsofties really have nothing to be proud of and haven't since Windows XP.

I hope this feature is coming soon.
Suggest that the option to set up the download default folder in preferences as well as a "save as" option

What a stupid option to not include, seriously?
When will it be ready?
In my opinion, this is a must have feature
