Hyperlinks and Searchable PDFs
When you open a pdf, hyperlinks within the pdf don't work. Additionally, you can't search within the PDF (No Ctrl-F either). PDFs that are a few hundred pages long is far too long to scroll through to find a section that can be found in seconds using a desktop PDF application.

We absolutely need the feature to open PDFs in our PDF editor app directly from the Teams client. What are you doing enforcing your own (featureless) viewer app.
As we currently publish all our documents in PDF format move to Teams filing has halted. -

Also if there is an email address within the pdf, that its clickable and opens up an email composition box with the address in the To box

The PDF viewer in SharePoint and Teams prevent embedded links from working, and holding the Shift or Ctrl key while clicking the link makes no difference. Add an "open" option to use the user's default PDF app.

If I may, can you confirm for me there is no way to set bookmarks in Adobe DC, load that document into MS Teams and maintain the bookmarks? It appears to me MS Teams does not support bookmark navigation on .pdfs.
Thank you! -

The hyperlinks work if you hold down the SHIFT key while clicking. It's not very intuitive, though, and it would be nice to remove that obstacle

Agreed would be great to see MS prioritize development of this feature, particularly activating links to work in PDF.

As said by Pat Rutherford, and using a link in pdf to e.g. play a video pointed to by the link as well as open web pages or jump to different parts of the document
