Cannot Link to Existing Channel File
On the mac app I created a file in a channel successfully. When I am on the Conversation screen and attempt to add that file to my conversation by linking it from the existing team channel, I get an error saying "upload failed". Happens every time in any channel.
I agree with the comments from other folks. Ideally, when I upload a file, I should be able to check a checkbox that automatically sends a link to the channel conversation thread. A user should also be able to subscribe to the file so anytime the file is updated, the user can get notified in Activity

I've seen this issue also - I have a file that is already in the Files tab but one folder deep, and want to notify someone about it in the conversations tab - so I click on the paperclip icon, select the file and it uploads the file, this time putting it at the root of the Files tab (not one folder deep) - why? I don't want two copies of the file...

I agree. There's needs to be a way to link to an existing file or One Note without displaying a long URL. It would also be useful to preview the content (first few line?) when viewing he conversation message.
It seems that even when you select an existing file, Teams attempts to upload it again. The option seems to be missing to just reference to the existing file. I tried getting the "Teams link" from the file itself in the Files tab, but it was not recognised as the file, it just pasted the long ugly link into my post.
