When granting access a Security group or Distribution list to a Team. Changes to the security groups/DL does not apply.
When granting access a Security group or Distribution list to a Team. Changes to the security groups/DL does not apply. If a user leaves the company or if we have new users, it is a manual process to add or remove them from a Team. Since we can select a Security group or Distribution list, changes to either should be reflected on the Team members.

This feature request is still working its way through the backlog queue.

It is a good idea to know that this feature is on the roadmap.
It will surely facilitate management of MS Teams.
Thanks in advance -

@Anonymous, you said it is on the roadmap. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters=&searchterms=50002
So I guess we have to wait till it is developed. Shouting won't work and doesn't make it go faster ;)

Is there an update?

Such a basic feature to be missing from a product like this? Makes migration to Teams all the more cumbersome.

No update in 2 years on this, can someone from MS please provide an update.

There hasn't been an update on this feature in 2 years. The lack of this feature makes managing Org-Wide and other large Teams/Channels a maintenance nightmare.

Would this roadmap item would cover this scenario?

If regular Teams users understood about Security groups there would be 50k votes for this. Would be huge value. So annoying to have to manage groups and Teams separately.

This request is similar to https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/34782517-distribution-lists-in-teams and should be combined as general AD group support improvements/additions. Teams' AD group support is currently extremely lacking.

Two years in the backlog now.
Any news on when this is epxected to be implemented? -

I have dozens of crufty old AD groups that I need to turn into Teams now that we've migrated to 365. Do I really have to do all this work twice?

Microsoft, this needs to be a top priority!

Mind numbing comes to mind....individual add users? No ability to use an AD group.
How could you possibly not support AD security groups to control access....adding individuals is so against best practices.

Ability to use live active directory groups in teams is critical even for smaller organizations. WE had that ability in Skype for Business. I was shocked this was not available in teams.
