Cannot cancel post edit
After selecting "Edit" on a post you cannot cancel the edit even after quitting the app. (There's no "Cancel" option and "Esc" doesn't do anything.) You have to "Send" the non-edited post, which then shows the post as "Edited" even though it wasn't.

So dumb. So the trashcan option (assuming delete option) is the Discard option. Deleting and Discarding are not the same thing, Microsoft.

I hear all the time that Microsoft does not care. Is this really the reason or is there more to it than that? A simple feature like this is very annoying and frustrating when dealing with Microsoft products, yet it seems to be the norm.

To me, it's madness that you can't already do this. It's such a basic but important feature!

I also agree that this is a really confusing UX choice. I assumed that the trash icon would delete the post.

I ran into same issue too, realized clicking on trash deletes the draft, agreed it is an stupid choice

First off, thanks for the comments. I just spent 20 minutes trying to figure out how to cancel a post that was edited in the browser version and I can back to client and did not want to loose or overwrite. the trash can worked. I agree this is a stupid choice for a discard changes. the trash can is usually to delete content. I actually had quite a few post stuck in edit mode with trash cans on them and now can go through and put them out of edit mode. @ MS the normal icon for discard is a paper with an X or a back arrow on it similar to the undo icon. Just a suggestion to search and find a better one. I would say 99% of our users would think trash means delete

That is a stupid UI choice.
If you select the Trash icon (next to the send icon) on the edit screen it will ask if you want to discard the draft. If you select yes, it cancels the edit and shows the original text.
It seems to be a poor icon choice just to cancel an edit and is nerve wracking to click, but it works.

significant is an understatement, i'd use an other adjective starting with the same letter
I also think this is significant

This happened with Microsoft Teams Version 1.0.00.6903 (64-bit).
