File column sort order
Make column sort order "sticky" so that if I prefer to sort my files by Name instead of Last Accessed, Team will remember my preference within a Team
We are happy to share that the column sort order can now be preserved in the Files Channel tab!
Please see the below SharePoint documentation for creating and updating custom views of a document library. This is now honored in Microsoft Teams.
Thanks for your feedback!

I definitely want to sort my files A to Z permanently -- not having to re-sort each time. Please make it easier on us and make this change as soon as possible. It should be the default.
Hi guys just to give you a frame of reference as to how failing to rectify this is impacting the working day of someone who uses teams as part of their job.
My company use teams as a means of file share and storage. I have recently put together a training series consisting of 15 folders each containing various sub folders which in turn contain video tutorials and instructional material. In all its over 200 files.
It should be a simple case of me hitting upload and leaving the machine do the job while I get on with something else, Instead I have to painstakingly upload each file individually. Yesterday after several hours of uploading files I realized I missed one folder and had to delete everything and start again. I mean really....I missed one folder and had to scrap hours of uploading and start again. I feel like its 1990 and I'm using a Commodore Amiga.
I'm now almost 2 full days doing a job that should have taken me 5 seconds.
I have to deal with this for now as our company uses this system but I'm going to campaign to get them to switch to another because this is unbelievably useless.
Can you sense my frustration?
Holy ****, where is this update? This is a tiny fix with big impact on usability. You can set the sort order in SharePoint, Teams just isn't picking it up and retaining it. How is this not just one task on a junior developer's list, to be submitted for testing by the end of the week?
Is it correct that this case will be solved, with this roadmap change?
This really need to be sorted out!
The file access via the teams-app is compleatly useless if you don't fix this issue. Why has it not been done? I do not understand!?!
Any update from Microsoft?
How is this still not a feature? This is Microsoft, not some podunk software company.
I could've learned how to code and fixed it myself in 2 years.
Do you sort your phone's contacts by most recently added too? What a useless feature
This is STILL a problem? It is so annoying. It is been a folder structure philosophy for a very long time to organize by name, such as 001-FolderName, 002-DifferentName, 003-Another_Name and so forth.
There is no rhyme or reason to keeping files organized by the modified date. Soon please, this request goes back at least three years!
yes definitely needed. Not sure why we don't have this already
How difficult is this? Like really?
I have the feeling that I'll be retired before this feature will be rolled out.
since 2018 no status update!? I cannot empathize, what is so difficult to implement this for a Micosoft Dev.
I have the A-Z / Z-A option for sorting folders but having selected A-Z ,the folders change to this order.... but they promptly change back to a random order!! SOOOO frustrating!!!

Please make this a priority!!!!
Please, make this priority because if you are talking about productivity....the lack of this is against this concept and i am sure it must be a simple issue to fix...
Would be great if you can see the Productivity as a main thing... certainly there are multiple things that can be done in a very short time of period.... for example... duplicity of a channel within a team
Please make this a priority. It's super annoying, that such a basic feature doesn't work.
Still working on it two years later?
alors ???? une date ?
So basic features and still drives me nuts as the missing one in the Teams (thanks to ShP and sync at least! but my colleagues do complain about Teams interface and its .... order by modified ...)
