File column sort order
Make column sort order "sticky" so that if I prefer to sort my files by Name instead of Last Accessed, Team will remember my preference within a Team
We are happy to share that the column sort order can now be preserved in the Files Channel tab!
Please see the below SharePoint documentation for creating and updating custom views of a document library. This is now honored in Microsoft Teams.
Thanks for your feedback!

Agree! I hate having to click on 'name' EVERY time i go looking for a folder just to get it to sort alphabetically...

The sort order can be changed in the files view by clicking the column header, however this order does not persist. Where can we set up a default sort order?

Does anyone know if this is being considered?
Also make this option in the mobil app versions of teams
oneDrive allows you to do this but not the files view in teams why?
Please allow this in the teams app

Yes please! The extra click every time you access a folder is inefficient.
This seems illogical to be setup in it's current way, I can't imagine a change like this would take very long to apply. Whatever X user sets at their preferred sort method, leave it for the next time they log in.

Yes, who cares when they were last accessed. When I get to a folder i want to find my files. I can't do this if the order keeps changing!
I believe this applies to the Files tab using the IOS app. The Desktop app allows to sort alphabetically by file name, but not the IOS app for iPhone. For IOS app, the file order seems to be random.
It is a waste of clicks (read: time) having to sort by Name every time we click on Files.
I disagree with others saying it should source the SharePoint sort, as some might team members may want to sort by Name, whereas others will sort by Modified Date.
This is really annoing, can this pleas be fixed asap? Thank you.
ALLOW ALPHABETICAL ORDER FOR FILE SORTING
It will be great to have the possibilities to choose a default sort value.
As a lot of users here, we have the habit to sort files by Name instead of last modification time. It is really boring to sort by name each times in files tab...
For SharePoint folders, like to add a number in front of the folder name so they always show up in the right order. Because Teams in Files view always sorts by last modified, this gets messed up.
Definitely a big issue for all of the valid reasons already mentioned.

Please add my voice to this request. Either remember the last sort order or honor the default view of the SharePoint team site.

When sorting folders by Name within a folder, have the numbered folders be sorted in numerical order.

Hello! This would be an excellent idea.
When on the app it's by last edited and for students using it in education having everything in name order (I use a numbering system to keep it chronical order of usage) would be fantastic
Btw. Big thumbed accidentally clicked flag as inappropriate- didn't mean too
Yes--please let us decide what order we want our files in. I too would prefer to sort by name and not last accessed. There is an order to the files that has to do with process and not 'last one I was in'. thanks! Better yet, let us pin the order for ourselves?
