File column sort order
Make column sort order "sticky" so that if I prefer to sort my files by Name instead of Last Accessed, Team will remember my preference within a Team
We are happy to share that the column sort order can now be preserved in the Files Channel tab!
Please see the below SharePoint documentation for creating and updating custom views of a document library. This is now honored in Microsoft Teams.
Thanks for your feedback!

Sorting alphabetically or at the very least retaining the last option chosen should be available by now. Please get this implemented.
Ditto. Quite vexing.
Is there a date for this yet? it is very annoying
I don't think Microsoft is reading this at all… I was happy to see that the last comment from Microsoft was from the 8th of july (its the 23rd now), so I had hope... Only to see the 'Working on it' comment was from the 8th of july 2018!!!!!
come on microsoft
I see there is plenty of people with the same need

typical microsoft, what should be a siple fix regularly requested is shelved for something"sexy and new" that nobody wants or needs. 2 years...ffs!
Let's all move to Apple😁
Come on @warren - are your really still working on it?
Working on it? WTF? That was two years ago!
PLEEEZE fix this issue.
It seems it would be very simple to at least allow it to remember the last choice for a particular list of files. Like many, I prefer A-Z by file name, and it is cumbersome to have to resort each time I open a file list in my channels. What's the holdup?
Please do this already. i can'be believe this dates back to 2017
July 2020 and still waiting...
Need this please

Please fix this SIMPLE design defect already. You're Microsoft, for god's sake!!!
Need to be able to sort alphabetically!
How does this take 2 years? We can create a SP view and set it as default. Teams does show the default view upon opening, but then ignores the actual settings until you select the view you created. I realize I'm repeating what other commenters have said, but it can't be stressed enough how annoying this is.

We've been migrating departments from an old On-Prem SharePoint 2013 site to SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams. The departments that wanted the data moved to Teams are going nuts with the default Modified view. I've set a custom view for Alphabetical, but you need to select it 2 or 3 times before the view changes. Please fix this!

At least you can create custom views that show what you need and switch to those, but the Default All Documents view is still untouchable.
From the Roadmap released at the end of Q1 2020:
SharePoint and Microsoft Teams: new Files experience
Manage files in Microsoft Teams with the full power of SharePoint. With the new Files experience, you will be able to add and manage custom columns, sort and filter files with custom views, trigger workflows, and sync files to your PC or Mac. Available this summer.

My God, please fix this. It's making it impossible to use our files.
I would like to sort files A to Z -- not having to re-sort each time.
