File column sort order
Make column sort order "sticky" so that if I prefer to sort my files by Name instead of Last Accessed, Team will remember my preference within a Team

We are happy to share that the column sort order can now be preserved in the Files Channel tab!
Please see the below SharePoint documentation for creating and updating custom views of a document library. This is now honored in Microsoft Teams.
Thanks for your feedback!

Please allow user to choose the default File sorting according to their preference (name, last modified, etc). This is a basic feature that should be available by now .

Want to be able to sort by Date Modified as a default when I want to Open. This was available in other MS Office tools until we upgraded. Why the heck they dropped it, I don't know. Please bring it back.
Thank you
Roxanne

I had more complaints about this one missing feature than anything else. When is this going to be fixed?

Please fix this

This is a real issue - somehow this past month you guys did something that shifted the default file listing to alphabetical instead of most recent on top. This is extremely frustrating and needs a fix SOON!!

Hilarious - a posited fix 2 years ago and its still not done. As ntquatex says, it will be a dead product before this is done.

Three years to add a Default Sorting Method.. Come on Microsoft Engineers, it can't be that difficult.

My Files were listed with the most recent at the top, now they've changed and I can't put them back!! So frustrating! Please help

This is Windows 3.1 basic functionality that Teams is still incapable of. Of course shouting into the void is not productive and Teams developers are human beings too. But this issue is the biggest cause of frustration for our team trying to find files when in meetings etc. PLEASE prioritise this.

This is an item that we are getting a lot of complaints on in my company. Is this being addressed soon?

Please fix this issue. Terrible that it has gone on this long!

Also when you add MS-Streams channel on MS-Teams, the videos cannot be arranged to be displayed alphabetically. For e.g. in the below Pic, I wanted the first video to be #1 but it starts from #7.

Are you kidding me? Two years and no reply, no reaction, nothing at all? For God's sake, I know you have a lot to do right now, but honestly: In Sharepoint we can sort by name, and in Teams that's not possible? Sorry, Microsoft, but you are disappointing! Really. And more important: It's fu.... hard to work with Teams if it lacks this kind of basic features.

PLEASE make this a priority for release.
Note though, that I would like to make the view a default as the project owner. It should DEFAULT to sort by name, and if a user wants to deviate, sure make it sticky if you want, but in my view the default configuration SHOULD BE BY NAME!
it's been two years in the waiting. End users love to point the "incorrect order of the files" out a a reason to not use all the other functionality that is offered by teams, because they are resistant to change. This is a basic conceptual fix that will make adoption of the platform SO MUCH EASIER.

This is still needed. Any update?

I really don't understand how it's taking this long to setup such a basic function int he system. I am trying to implement this program to my company and this default sort order honestly deters the users because it makes basic functionality so confusing.

Two years to implement default sort order? This is *basic* functionality of any file system.

No option to change default view FROM LAST USED does not allow me to use my files the way I need to. ETA on Fix?

How is this basic feature not yet enabled? I saw a chat about this going back to 2017. There needs to be an ability to customize the sorting of columns/files and set a default. It makes no sense.
This stuff makes me question the entire use of Teams... not knowing what other stupid things are going to pop-up as I learn the application.
Time waster not having this feature... when we are trying our best to eliminate waste.

Please advise Microsoft Leadership (repeatedly) that this is a critical priority for their user base ... understandably, not everyone comprehends the work that needs to go into the fix, but the longer this goes on, the more damage to the Brand. Everyone has enough to do, without having to constantly resort and search through/for their collaborations ... that this is still an issue is bordering on inexcusable. That being said, many thanks to you and your team(s) for everything "behind the scenes"!
