Streamline process of sending a new message
Currently Skype has the ability to do a search for a contact or group using a keyboard shortcut. Typically the person/group I want to message is at the top so all I need to do is hit "Enter" and I just start typing away. I love how simple and fast this is in Skype.
However, currently in Teams if I use the keyboard shortcut for "New Message", I cannot write a message into a channel. But if I use the keyboard shortcut for "Search", I can find the channel, group, or person but I cannot just hit "Enter" to start talking to them. I need to navigate past the "Search for xxxxxx" and then hit Enter.
I think the simplest solution is probably to add Channels as the search results that come up when using the "New Message" button or shortcut.
Perhaps rename this to Shortcut for writing new message - should just be a keyboard affair! Not clicking into Teams and channels and people... Yes the way Slack does it is brilliant. So missed!
The thing I miss the most about Slack is the ability to use one keyboard shortcut to launch a direct message window and then use @whatever to write to whoever I need
