The option to “discard” suggested contacts in your chat list is rolling out to users. We will be making further changes to make suggested contacts more relevant for new users in the future as well, so marking as partially completed. Thanks for your patience with this one.

Please give me some way to turn off the suggested contacts. I keep seeing people that I don't want to see. I don't want to see these people's pictures. I close it and for some reason, it keeps opening back up. PLEASE shut this off.

The Suggested Chat list coming up on my screen really needs to be
a) something I can hide and then show or turn off completely via settings
b) something from which I can remove contacts showing in the list
c) something I can toggle off and on from the chat screen
I work for a very large company, consulting and implementing software, so I am trying to offer a detailed explanation and suggestions to optimize your efforts to implement. (I know what it is like providing user feedback to development)
Reason for request: Most importantly - in my suggestions list is a Corporate Operations group with which I would never want to start a chat. There are others there as well, (I really cannot figure out the algorithm producing the results). I know as a user my responsibility is to go slow, pay attention, be careful of to whom to I am sending a chat invite. But I believe your responsibility is to help me avoid an inadvertent situation where I might send something to the wrong party based on who the program believes I might wish to establish a chat.
Also - as others have mentioned - it is just plain annoying to have that pop up and go away then pop up and go away - for example just now all I did was change from one chat contact to another and I got the suggested list. It takes up space, detracts from my focused activity and prevents me from wanting to engage in chats here.

The automatic suggested contacts is in my way! How can I turn it off??? It inhibits me from texting our students and graduates.
Please give us the option to at least switch this off, it is really annoying.

Useless since it shows terminated staff and folks that don't use Teams. The default should be recently logged in users, or allow me to filter.
When I go to "chat", I see a list of "recent" and then "suggested". I'm really unhappy with the people who are chosen for the "suggested" list. There are many people in this list who I would never interact with and who do not to be there very various reasons. I need these people removed from the suggested list. How do I do that?

This feature used to be fantastic- very very useful for us in sales & marketing, and I'd love to have it back in full force. It's quite difficult to navigate it now and also unclear how the algorithm works; is it based on my entries of new contacts or sent emails or is it from the inbox? Please bring it back (superuser, Office2016, yes I did find the folder but it seems not to cover all) but maybe the GUI should be more self-explanatory. KR, Bjorn, Sweden

Please git rid of this annoying feature. I am constantly collapsing it and then it expands automatically at will
Definitely need to be able to turn off Suggested Contacts, it really is a nuisance. At the very least it should be collapsed by default.

Please allow us to remove terminated employees from the 'Suggested' contacts list. It clutters up the view of my team members, who I'm trying to convince to use Teams.
Removing a single contact and turning off Suggested Contacts all together should be available to the user.
Please don't show me the "Suggested Contacts" section because I don't know the people you mention in suggestions and i can find the contacts I need without the suggestions
I totally agree. Suggested contacts are useless. I do not need MT to decide/suggest who I an add as a contact. This clutters up my chat contacts also. I rather add favorites or contacts who I chat with often to this section. This should be controlled by the user.
YES. I checked with the support team who escalated the SR and was told the users are randomly selected, not based on frequency of contacts. Don't see any business value in this feature. Please remove or allow users to turn it off.

yes, allow us to dismiss them— one of mine is for a colleague who passed away, so it makes me sad to see his name every morning.
The suggested contacts is not updated or not able to remove when employee no longer in the company.
Or provide the ability to turn it off, and to disable it for specific users.
