File Upload Window Resize or Full File Name on HOver
Would be helpful when working with files that have similar, but long names to be able to resize the window to see the entire file name, or provide the full file name when hovering over the file link.
On desktop teams ->
I'm trying to both upload a file and simply just attach them to a message, why I am using the "clip" on the message a dialog pops up that I cannot resize, nor can I resize the columns. if I hover over the file yes...it tells me the name but seriously. At least just let me resize the columns I need to look at several at same time. Seems like we are going back in time, why would you not let the user resize the column,
Need to implement this, so trivial and current functionality is inconsist with anything Windows does overall (much let any file choser) I agree with the poster.
It's a file directory, so the Files page in Teams should work like File Explorer directory with the ability to resize to see full file name or hover over a file to do the same. You should also be able to sort the files in alpha order or by date (A->Z and Z->A, chronological order and reverse chronological order), or document type. Whatever I can do in File Explorer, I want to do here in Teams.
I would also like the option to make this the first page I see rather than Conversations. Or at least there be an option as to which page defaults as perhaps others use the Conversation more than we do. I am constantly clicking over Conversations to get to the file I want. Then because I can't see the full file time have to open several files to find the one I want to work in. Not all the files originate from my team so asking folks to be more concise in their naming convention is often outside my control.
And again, this is a file directory (or at least behaves like one) and so should have the same capabilities as File Explorer.
This is a big issue on our end. It's hard to get others in our organization bought into the value of using Teams when they cannot even find the right file with out clicking through a bunch of them b/c the full file name doesn't display.
This may be a small tweak, but it'd make a HUGE difference in how my group uses Teams. We are trying to shift much of our group collaboration to Teams, including editing presentations. But every time we save a new version, it's really hard to see which file on the "Files" tab is which because you cannot see the full file name. This is super frustrating.
same with search...
