Increase duration for desktop notifications
The channel/team on which the notification has been made should stay more/better/longer visible so that you won't miss one.
Once support for Windows 10 native notifications is released, users who choose to use Windows notifications will be able to utilize Windows OS specific settings for the length of time to display notifications. Mac does not have an OS specific setting, so will not have the support.
Missing notifications also means missing phone calls when Teams is used for voice communications as well. Agree with others, this was not an issue with Skype. Adding and always on top option would suffice.

do need this: many people in the org complain about how easy it is to miss a notification.
Seems notifications are an issue and have been for a while. Is there anything new?
This is coming up quite often in our preliminary deployment of Teams. Missing messages is quite common and there doesn't seem to be any way to get these notification methods to remain persistent. I'd prefer not to mark everything as Urgent in hopes that they'll see it in the 20 minutes it amplifies.

+1 When you are in meetings all day, you can miss a lot of messages. Having the pop-ups persistent on the desktop would be a big help. Trying to scroll through your list of conversations is worse than scrolling through email to what you've read.

Teams notifications windows/ popups are easily missed.
I need the notifications to
1) Last longer so I can see them before they disappear
2) Let me customize how big the notification window / popup is.
3) Let me choose where on my monitor, and which monitor the notification window / popup shows up on

STILL a problem!

Teams is an Electron app... that makes use HMTL and CSS to render the notifications. Maybe any one can interac with the notifications...
1. Install: Node.JS and NPM
2. Close Teams
3. Go to: "C:\Users\<your_user>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Teams\current\resources"
4. Make a backup for app.asar file
5. Run: npx asar extract app.asar <destfolder>
6. Open the <destfolder>: ..\destfolder\lib\notifications
7. Make your changes
8. Delete app.asar file
9. Repack asar: npx asar pack <destfolder> app.asar
10. Open Teams and test the changes
I have over 30 channels. It's unrealistic to change every channels notification settings one by one.
Our users would like to use Teams more, but the missed notification "feature" (probably due to too many active devices/browser sessions still logged in) is leaving a perception of the tool not being very reliable, which make them continue to stick with other tools like Slack and WeChat. Please make this a higher priority. Thanks.
Agree with everyone here, notifications need to be improved across the board. New channel notifications are turned off by default and no way to force them on by default. Terrible.
In exactly the same boat here. Teams is virtually useless for chat as the notifications are missed all of the time. Awful.

So frustrating to read all these comments matching my complaint - the chat notification in Teams totally, totally, sucks! The tiny little number, buried in the tiny Teams icon, buried in the Windows system tray is a joke.
If someone sends me a chat they are likely looking for a quick response, so I need a much better notification. A blinking icon within the Team system tray icon. A toast notification that comes to the top of my screen (let me snooze it or dismiss it).
Why is this concept so difficult for Microsoft to understand and why are they so slow to respond? There are 183 comments that go back all the way back to 2016!
Come on Microsoft, please get this fixed!
I searched out this forum because I'm constantly missing Teams messages. So I'm adding my two cents in the hopes in encourages the development of something to make notifications stand out. I vote for a popup that stays on your screen until you acknowledge it. Thanks for listening!
With our old system Jabber you had the option to have the notification stay on the screen until you've seen it. There also use to be an option to "shake" someone's screen to make them aware they have a notification they've been missing.
When we have any message in Group, we do not receive any notification or even no pop-up as well so miss any communication in group.
While for single chat we do not face such issues.

Please give us a "in your face" notification option

Yes, I miss notifications all the time. It was much better with Skype and Lync. Can't believe they haven't fixed this
Really need to revamp notifications. Currently it is way too easy to miss messages, and this is causing issues with our team. Why not just have a system like Slack does? That one works really well.

Notifications do not currently follow the appropriate Accessibility API standards for macOS apps.
Notifications should not be assigned the AXStandardWindow subrole. Something different should be used such as AXDialog, see https://developer.apple.com/documentation/appkit/nsaccessibilitysubrole?language=objc#declarations
