Increase duration for desktop notifications
The channel/team on which the notification has been made should stay more/better/longer visible so that you won't miss one.
With the rollout of support for native Windows 10 OS native notifications, you are able to increase banner duration from 5 seconds all the way to 5 minutes. To learn more, please visit https://support.microsoft.com/office/change-your-notifications-style-in-teams-0da93820-93d0-4da3-86b6-fc28d19908e3 and https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/make-windows-easier-to-hear-9c18cfdc-63be-2d47-0f4f-5b00facfd2e1.
Native Mac notifications are in the process of rolling out, and once you have that build, you can also do the same for Mac notifications. (see https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/17679433-persistent-notification)

Notifications for chat messages when turned off it is not showing the icon as being lighted up. Messages are easily missed and not able to reply the messages on time.
Sharing of screens while presenting is not really appropriate to have notifications on for banners.

Notifications are not solving the purpose to Notification. Not visible as if someones updates on the MS Teams, its quite hard to understand the message is notified.
Also because of this we need to check oftenly the app. :(
The default pop-up location covers a button that is vital in the main database program our company uses. Being able to change the location of the pop-up would be a huge benefit.
Yeah there's a big problem when using Teams on multiple devices. If my desktop Teams has focus, my mobile won't receive notifications anymore. This is a problem if I'm afk like receiving a phone call or grabbing a drink or whatever. I'd love to have the option of always pushing notifications to mobile.
My issue with the notifications is that with multiple screens, it's hard to notice them sometimes. Is there a way to move their default pop up location?
Notification is not working for me as well.

S, its the same situation here

I'm unable to get any notifications here too. This is dismal because we're attempting to move over from slack but if there's no notifications, it won't be too useful. a fast paced environment will benefit from notifications
Sure there will be noise but it's needed noise. if not, just switch it off per channel i guess?
This may be the lynchpin that decides if my organization uses this app or not. At this point, it seems pointless to launch, as notifications are easily missed.

I have to second this requirement. I've pushed Teams across my organization of over 250 employees, and almost *everyone* (>90%) of them are reporting that mobile notifications simply don't work. This is unacceptably flawed - how can MS develop an IM app, and not have notifications work consistently?
Also just started looking at teams. Hoping to reduce email and centralize discussion/documentation around projects. I'd like to replace using skype and outlook and use Teams and outlook web client but need notifications for calendar reminders to do this.
seems now the notifications still have bugs, even i turn on the notification, still can not receive the banner when i got a new message
Why doesn't it use the OS notification system? Sad to not have any settings on notifications, like whether to show a banner, make a sound, etc.
I don't know why this is closed as Completed - https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/17837359-enable-notification-for-group-chats because IT"S NOT WORKING!
So under this new one, let me comment that we still are waiting for PROPER notifications whenever there is a new Message on the channel.
This is not working even though I am following channels.
I never see red indicator on the Teams icon, only on Activity or Chat.

Adding red dot notifications for Teams when messages arrive, similar to other MacOSX programs, would be highly beneficial to the product. Control of these through the System Preferences UI would also be a very nice feature. As it is now, unless I am focusing on the product, I do not know if I am receiving messages or not.

Yes, I will second this suggestion. Honestly we are looking for similar Skype functionality. The application blinks/persists orange until you click on the tab where your notification is. When you chat in a channel, or a document the notes get lost/not found because the comments can be in so many places/tabs. There needs a better way to see the comments. we figured out that if you @channel name and then use the reply button to comment back everyone keeps getting the notification but if you type into the normal char box is does not notify. If you are in a group chat, and trying to take notes in One Note, it is very difficult to see the comments. We have been very successfully using the team to share the One Note and keep notes during client meetings, but when we want to chat with each other during the meeting we are still having to use a separate application because we do not get the chat pop up notifications unless you first tag the person/channel/team notifications.

Native notifications would be nice, because than you could see them in the notification center afterwards

Notifications are not good. Implement keyword notification and also do mobile notifications when inactive on desktop.
Just started using teams. Popup messages will be important for our use. When will it be available?

Same issue here with the dark theme. Also unlike Skype there is no easy way to view others active status. I had to create a draft chat to everyone, then make them favorite so I can always see different team members I interact with frequently. However, once in favorite their location never moves. I would like when someone sends me a chat they they are at the top of the list - I should not have to scroll to the bottom to look for who sent a message. Also, I dont know why Teams does not interact with the new W10 notification area. Skype does, Teams should as well since that is where MS wants us to look. If I am not at my computer and I miss the initial notification there is nothing showing me I missed a chat unless I go and look at Teams. There needs to be something in the task bar, or something telling me I missed a message!
