I want to use multiple Teams accounts at the same time
LOG INTO MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS
Original user posted:
I would like to heave this multi-team/tenant option within “MS Teams”, like in Slack. Currently I’m in four different organization. They’re using all office365, three of them now changed from Slack to Teams. I’ve to permanently login/logout to switch to the related MS Team. This is really time consuming.
Another user says:
We need the ability to sign in with multiple accounts. Many of us have several O365 accounts for various reasons (consulting, etc), and we’d need to be able to access teams directly.
This is not a federation or B2B scenario, but a case where new O365 credentials have been created in another tenant for us. The app today only allows a single signed-in account at a time and that’s a blocker.
SHARED CHANNELS ACROSS TEAMS
From a merged idea:
Please add support for shared channels which could be used in multiple teams. Suppose there is one company-wide team with multiple channels. It would be great if all teams within the company could include these channels or at least one of them in their own team. In that way you don’t have to recreate the channel for every team again.
We know you are patiently waiting for this feature. This feature is being implemented in stages. Fast tenant switching is currently in testing both internally and with early customers. We expect to release to the public in the Fall. I’ll post an update once it’s rolling out.
Full multi-tenant, multi-user support will be added after fast tenant switching.

Whats the update ? When is it getting released ?

We have fast tenant switching on ios devices, but when will it come for desktop versions?
Nate Richards commented
I see it is live in the mobile app... when will it come to the desktop?

My thoughts are fast switching really does not solve any really issues for me, and should be managed as a separate issue. Right now I need to be able to have at least 2 instances of teams running. Having to sign out of one account to access another means while I am active in a single account I miss all live communications from the other. This is a much bigger issue then speed, and "I think" solving this issue will negate ever having to solve the speed issue.
I agree with @Bertie. To switch orgs is a very time consuming exercise AND what is really needed is that I can see activity in all the teams I'm affiliated to via my multiple identifications (volunteer groups, businesses, friends) without these "orgs" needing to be aware of the other "orgs". I should see and respond to the feeds without having to switch orgs just to see if there has been any activity.
Hope that helps refine the requirement.
That's looks like what we want @Tim but isn't. It relates to guest relationships that a single account has with multiple tenancies; but does not provide the ability to use multiple accounts from different tenancies at the same time.
See screenshot. One of our employees saw it a while ago on his iPhone, finally seeing it on Android with the latest update. Pretty sure some of our people have it on desktop as well.

It takes far too long. The same functionality as used in outlook. Explain.

Folks that are seeing this feature, can you provide a screenshot?
We have this feature now. Looks like MS is rolling it out.

>is there a way (even if it's a bunch of clicks) to 'easily' switch tenants: only workarounds I can think of are multiple "People" in Chrome, each profile logged into a separate account. Limited to using the web interface and therefore easy to miss notifications if you don't keep the browser sessions one. Or multiple virtual machines but that's not ideal either...
YES! Definitely need the ability to access multiple organisations; my workplace is using Teams and the Volunteer Emergency Service I am a member of wants us using it as well. I don’t have time or interest logging in & out between different orgs. Looks like this has been an ongoing request for a long time. Come on Microsoft, please make it happen soon.

i know we can't have multiple tenants right now, but what is the recommended workaround... is there a way (even if it's a bunch of clicks) to 'easily' switch tenants?
Lars Roth commented
Please add this feature asap because it cost much time to switch the account. THANKS!
Christian de la Cruz commented
Hopefully this can be added soon, it's really useful and I don't want to switch to Slack.

Why not just allow me to have multiple instances of Teams open, one for each tenant?
Any updates on this?
All the "Consultants" who are suffering. Everyone has this problem. Think outside the box - like consultant should do.

genuinely blows my mind it's taken over 2 years to figure this out - currently consulting and doing my masters and need to use multiple accounts pretty much constantly, but it's not possible. Absolute ball-ache. It's a great tool, but the moment you need it in more than one place it's actually a barrier to productivity.

Work faster...this is killing consultants!
