I want to use multiple Teams accounts at the same time
LOG INTO MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS
We need the ability to sign in with multiple accounts. Many of us have several O365 accounts for various reasons (consulting, etc), and we’d need to be able to access teams directly. This is not a federation or B2B scenario, but a case where new O365 credentials have been created in another tenant for us. The app today only allows a single signed-in account at a time and that’s a blocker.
As stated in the last update, the ability to use multiple Teams accounts at the same time is being implemented in stages for Desktop. Faster tenant switching functionality on the Windows client has been rolled out to the public ring fully, and Mac will begin rolling out soon. Work is in progress on cross-tenant notification improvements, and support for multiple accounts on desktop will follow. We’ll keep you posted!
Note: The ability to use multiple Teams accounts at the same time is supported on iOS & Android today.
Alex & the Teams team
Just tried switching and realized this is a problem, when you have been setup with same account on external third party tenant as your own office365 login and teams. It is appearing blank for me in a new incognito window on external tenant, errors when trying to use the same window.
I agree I don't want fast switching. I want one instance of Teams to support multiple accounts within the same interface. I'm a consultant that has multiple Teams accounts from O365. I want it to function like Outlook where I can have multiple accounts connected and I'd get notifications from any of those from the one Teams app interface.
Any update on timing?

So much this! I'm a member of 4 different Teams orgs, and switching is very frustrating.
Indeed, looking forward to this.
Can do it on the Android app, and that works great.
But not on the desktop app.
(Actually, be nice to have a means by which notifications could come through on all (selected) organisations! :) )
Very much waiting for this.
What is the progress on this feature?
I am working in a consulting company and need to have this capability as i have different email addresses due to the domains access on sharepoint too.
Fast switching is completely pointless, almost literally missing the point. It needs to support multiple accounts, and it should've before Teams was even publicly released.
My company was bought out and we are going through a 2 year merger of systems. During this time I am expected to manage Teams in 2 different domains, thus, 2 different accounts. The work around I am using is to open 2 different browsers (Chrome and Firefox) so I can have 2 different sessions but this is a pain to manage.
Please Microsoft. Make the multiple accounts a priority.

Can we have a timeline when we can expect the next updates for all platforms (including apple)?
Microsoft, please make this happen. Look at Slack... They were able to do this from day one, why can't you? We need this, as we collaborate with multiple companies and switching between tenants just does not cut it!
On Teams mobile app, it's easily to switch between different accounts but seems I am not able to find this option on desktop app.

The Azure multi-tenant app is fabulous!!! Teams should be releasing the update soon!
Any updates? This feature cannot come fast enough

Nearly 1000 comments from people looking for this to be implemented, with no further updates in the last 3 months? I echo the sentiments of many of the others, switching isn't all that useful; I'd like to be able to be logged in to the same instance with multiple accounts... or, barring that, at LEAST be able to open multiple instances of teams and log in separately on each.

We are in the process of switching over from Slack to Teams but this is fast becoming a blocker to us adopting Teams across our business. Clients are not happy to switch between tenants and are missing notifications in chats. Can we get the release date please?

Both my consultancy and my main client use O365.
We've used Teams in our consultancy for some time and now my client has just switched from Slack to Teams!
Both use Teams for _real-time_ comms - I now have to decide if I interact with my consultancy team or my client's team.
I also agree with Heather "fast switching" doesn't help with notifications - If I'm away from my desk - I'm always going to miss out important messages from one team or the other.
I don't think that working for more than one organisation is a new concept.

Please skip "fast switching" and get right to the real ask. We don't want to switch...I can't switch when I am in the middle of a chat with one client but also need to simultaneously chat with another person in my own org and/or another client with a different tenant. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, just give us the final solution. I agree with others below that for a temp fix, it would be better to at least having multiple app/client windows open at the same time but logged in to different tenants...that would at least let me do what I need to. fast switching is useless for me
