I want to use multiple Teams accounts at the same time
LOG INTO MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS
We need the ability to sign in with multiple accounts. Many of us have several O365 accounts for various reasons (consulting, etc), and we’d need to be able to access teams directly. This is not a federation or B2B scenario, but a case where new O365 credentials have been created in another tenant for us. The app today only allows a single signed-in account at a time and that’s a blocker.
As stated in the last update, the ability to use multiple Teams accounts at the same time is being implemented in stages for Desktop. Faster tenant switching functionality on the Windows client has been rolled out to the public ring fully, and Mac will begin rolling out soon. Work is in progress on cross-tenant notification improvements, and support for multiple accounts on desktop will follow. We’ll keep you posted!
Note: The ability to use multiple Teams accounts at the same time is supported on iOS & Android today.
Alex & the Teams team
We r a batch of 350 students studying part-time besides working full-time. Our university recommended app for assignments, events and chats with alumni etc. Is Teams. At the same time many of our work organizations are already subscribed to Teams. We are unable to switch between the accounts and loosing on important notifications. My vote is equal to 350+ votes. Please fix this ASAP.
Again, I wonder if you understand when you say:
"The ability to **use** multiple Teams accounts at the **same time** is supported on iOS & Android today"
That is account switching which is not what we are asking for.
DUDES - paying customer here. Actually re-installed Slack and resumed convos with some people there because it was getting too painful trying to navigate multiple companies. 😞
PLEASE at least just let us know what "working on it means" and just give us an update with some kind of rough ETA. Are we talking, weeks, months, years?

3 years later....I still cannot be signed in with multiple IDs at the same time. Seriously...

I'd love to see this functionality be made in a similar way as it is in Slack (in this matter Slack beats Teams absolutely for users that are working in multiple environments) - I have all notifications, switching is instant (no waiting for log out and log in) and the switch between account is visible on the screen, not hidden in any menu.

Please NO SWITCHING. I want to see all accounts running in PARALLEL (like I can monitor in Outlook multiple email accounts).
Please add an option to open NON MODAL windows, as many as I want to have (and for what ever account). These limitations of the native client are super annoying.

Allready 5 months 'working on it'. Is there an update? please, please, please.
This is a must feature
I entirely agree - I am very surprised that I cannot switch between accounts on Teams on my laptop

As the Microsoft 365 Family offer started, I would have expected this feature to have launched. I would have been a customer if it did. (even though I would also like to use my custom domain as I will never move my domain to godaddy)
Found this article that claims that this switching is coming though: https://techcrunch.com/2020/03/30/office-365-becomes-microsoft-365-and-gets-new-personal-and-family-plans/
Even though the Microsoft 365 roadmap doesn't mention it (at this date) https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters=

Can we get an update on this? It is a big pain point for a lot of users, myself included.

@Alex, regarding Android. When trying to add a new account, on android, you receive the message that only one managed account can be on a device at a time, when trying to use two different tenants.

How about an update on this. Last update was December and the is the 2nd most voted idea.
"Faster tenant switching functionality on the Windows client has been rolled out to the public ring fully"
What does that mean? I don´t have the option to switch tenant in my Teams-app on Windows 10. I still have to log out and log into the other tenant back and forth all the time.

I need this, too. Mostly because I have a tenancy for Office 365 that I have some people in, but my tenancy is secondary to theirs, but they still need to communicate with me, so ... thanks for keeping us updated on this!
We can already swap accounts in Microsoft To Do, and sign in with multiple accounts in Outlook, please roll this out to MS Teams as well. You have already done it with some products, so please do it for all...

"Work is in progress on cross-tenant notification improvements" this cannot be that hard to implement. The Teams meeting link (e.g. from Outlook) has the tenant id in it ("tid") would be very useful if you got a warning that you are joining a meeting with an tenant/account that does not match that. This cannot be hard to implement at all!
This is important and need to be added on every platform
When will this feature be available?
