I want to use multiple Teams accounts at the same time
LOG INTO MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS
We need the ability to sign in with multiple accounts. Many of us have several O365 accounts for various reasons (consulting, etc), and we’d need to be able to access teams directly. This is not a federation or B2B scenario, but a case where new O365 credentials have been created in another tenant for us. The app today only allows a single signed-in account at a time and that’s a blocker.
The ability to use multiple Teams accounts at the same time is supported on iOS & Android today. The feature team is continuing to work on support for multiple accounts on desktop. We’ll keep you posted as we have more details.
You can use this code in the terminal on Mac to run a second instance of Teams App, anyway it may not provide you with full functionality (some files & folders can have limited access)
sudo /Applications/Microsoft\ Teams.app/Contents/MacOS/Teams /secondary
Slack makes it look so easy. It feels they were designed with this in mind. In real scenarios folks across companies often collaborate freely. Microsoft Teams is a promising tool, especially with the tight integration with O365. But it seems it's designed with the old school approach of everyone sits in a single large company. That's not the reality anymore. This feature would really move things in the right direction.
This is fundamental. I run two small businesses and need to be on top of team chat for both. I chose O365 but Microsoft seems to be saying in return, we only care about enterprise by not having started work on this already. Seems like entrepreneurs and consultants working with multiple tenants are on their own.
I can have multiple O365 (and other) email accounts in Outlook, on my computer and phone...sooooooo...????

I'm a consultant adapting to my clients environments.
I'm very fortunate so far only one of them is starting using Teams.
But others are considering, and I tell them we can't move away from Slack until Teams provide multi-account access.
Thanks for your considerations
Please Go like slack ! with multiple workspace in the same client ! that's essential
I also would like to have this option. When being a consultant for several companies it becomes a bit tricky
Until Teams supports multiple accounts it will always be a back seat to email where every client supports monitoring multiple accounts.

Nope, not being picky at all! The experience of using Teams internally, with guests, and then as a guest within another company's Team - this needs to "just work". When a user uses Teams, it should be crystal-clear WHO they are (internal, guest, etc) WHERE they are (own company, another company) and WHOM the other users are (internal, Microsoft account, guest from another Tenant)

Furthermore.. how do you receive notifications from one of your other teams?? The only way I can see activity in other teams is to switch into that other team. Am I missing something?

I agree. This shouldn't be a drop down in the upper right corner to change orgs or something. I'm looking for a more unified "one stop shop" for all the channels I need.
I would love to see Shared channels across teams. Working in a consultancy environment and dealing with multiple customers and groups, it would be great to be able to integrate across the various teams in different organisations. Using something like the trello option of being able to join a particular channel via a link no matter what organisation or teams you are part of would be amazing. Given you can hold a meeting with any party, having a permanent channel of communication rather than just a single meeting would be a great goal.

If the plan is to stick with having external users for each organization, and this is going to be a replacement for skype for business, this is a requirement. It makes communicating with people outside of the domain/organization a time consuming, and confusing mess. I would like to be able to chat and or video call with my clients and this makes it near impossible to use especially from a desktop application standpoint.
Or even giving access to the external channels, in our own accounts/organization channels, with labels on them showing they are external to the organization.
Its the only thing preventing me from moving over to teams, as well as many of my clients.
Please implement soon!
Dear MS Team,
We really need this as a lot of our customers are using Teams, and we need to be online with several Teams including our own.
G'day Warren. Hoping you might have an update on this one? Very much needed.
Dear MS Team,
We are waiting patiently for this feature for quite some time now. Could you please provide us with some feedback? We are promoting MS Teams for several clients, but find it very hard to track the various inboxes.
Many thanks for keeping us in the loop,
Students might use this, as they might have Teams service from both their university and workplace. Currently you are forced to use one or the other browser-only.

Guest access in Teams has become a nightmare for our company. We are project-based and work extensively with external partners - and we have no idea what system they use, so when they already have Exchange online and nothing else, Teams will not work. Guest access for Teams either must work with almost any invited user, or be turned off completely. This half-way, might or might-not work Teams guest access is killing adoption among our 250+ employees.
I need also this mutuiple session feature
Really need this. Trying to drive adoption with customers but cannot participate having to sign in and out into different tenants
