I want to use multiple Teams accounts at the same time
LOG INTO MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS
We need the ability to sign in with multiple accounts. Many of us have several O365 accounts for various reasons (consulting, etc), and we’d need to be able to access teams directly. This is not a federation or B2B scenario, but a case where new O365 credentials have been created in another tenant for us. The app today only allows a single signed-in account at a time and that’s a blocker.
The ability to use multiple Teams accounts at the same time is supported on iOS & Android today. The feature team is continuing to work on support for multiple accounts on desktop and web clients. We’ll keep you posted as we have more details.
Shocked this isn't currently a feature, it makes no sense. Slack does this perfectly and it makes collaboration between businesses effortless and efficient. I miss Slack...

This is a no brained! One would think this would be on the extremely HIGH PRIORITY list. I work as a consultant and most of the time the client issues me an email account. So I need to be able to receive notices from my company and my client company. Sometimes 3 or more accounts.

It would really help if you could share an ETA on by when this feature will be available in the desktop. Currently we are forced to use teams on Web for the 2nd account, and trust me the Web version is really buggy :(
Even though you can have more than one account in Teams on Android. You only get notifications for the active account. So really your just getting an easy way to toggle between accounts in the app. This is helpful but I think most users are expecting to have multiple accounts and get notifications on those accounts even when not active. Having multiple accounts but only getting notifications on the active one, is not very helpful.
I have one email account within my desktop app and one open on the web - this is not ideal. PLEASE can you sort this soon?!
We've just started using Teams and I am astonished that this feature does not exist... Some of our users cannot consider moving to Teams from Slack while this feature is missing, since we're a non-profit that collaborates extensively with outside organizations. At least add the ability to receive notifications without needing to manually switch organizations!

In Android, it is correct that one can be logged in to two accounts (on different 0365/AAD tenants) at the same time, but you only get notifications from the one that is "currently active".
The multi-account support is really just providing an easy way to toggle between accounts, but only one is truly "active" at the time.
I think most users want a more complete experience including notifications from all the added accounts.

My users are getting really annoyed about the lack of this essential feature.
Teams is great for internal collaboration but it's hopeless for b2b collabs, for working with clients and suppliers and other areas where a 'team' doesn't necessarily have all it's members in the same company. Being able to quickly switch between Teams accounts is fundamental.
Getting notifications from all Teams is just as important. I'm tired of having to cycle through all my Teams accounts just to make sure I haven't missed anything.
Does this include Accounts & Orgs like we have in Mobile?
Glad to see your turning your attention to it. Organizing by Tenant isn't how people interact. Now that many of my users are using external contacts for the first time they are seeing just how painful it is to explain to a first time external contact how to switch orgs as well god forbid you are the external contact the pain and horror of having to switch orgs is too much. I have been on meetings and needed to switch orgs and could not without disconnecting my call. I bet this is fundamental, that is going to take so much effort, but if you really want teams to continue to grow is must be done and it must be down soon before you miss your window.
We have 3 domains on one tenant. I have three e-mail addresses, and three types of candidats/prospects.
I definitely need to switch profiles easily IN Teams ..
i now have 4 Microsoft 365 teams accounts on my laptop working at home and it is driving me crazy. The different Teams users have to ring me up to tell me to look at a specific Teams account.
Is there a third party tool out there which does this? Or should we be using Zoom and Slack, which appear to doth is quite nicely and just have one Teams account, which would be the main business account - but I run 3 businesses with different Teams licences ( 2 charities and 1 business ) and different clients!
I need some timescales defined to determine what to do rather like you released timescales for allowing recorded videos to be seen by guests - timescales helped a lot and enabled me to tell clients that they just had to wait 6 months.
Am encouraged to see Alex's reply on 7th July 2020 - thank you for posting. This continues to be a major issue for me as a consultant with my own business' Office 365 account, and working with multiple clients as external consultant on their Teams as well. Either the ability to operate multiple teams accounts in parallel, or (preferably) cross-domain teams is very much needed.
Please add this feature
- 3 1/2 yrs since this was brought to their attention
- 4 months in to a pandemic that has many working from home with multiple clients
- 6 months since the last update from the admins with essentially a copy / paste from the last one
The only reason Teams is even used is because of the tie-ins with the rest of the office suite. Otherwise there are FAR SUPERIOR applications that have much more functionality.
Will this include notifications popping up for all the different accounts regardless of whether they are in focus? I don't mind switching if I am aware someone is trying to reach me on another account.

Is it possible to replace the time specification "Working on it" with a realistic date? Even if it says "summer 2020", "end of 2020", etc....
Even if I could see which identity I am currently logged in with would be a start. My name never changes so I always just see my name in the title bar, but have to dig around to figure out for myself who I am logged in as. When you click on your name the only option is to change picture; could it not mention the current user login ID there too?

And still this remains a barrier to teams acceptance.
It is a farce that people have to send me a message on Slack to tell me that they have posted something on teams or to get me to join a meeting.
Like many others we have been asking for this now for years, and all we get is roadmap roadmap.
Just allow me to install teams to different folders ( NEVER EVER in my User folders please) then at least I can have 3 or four copies running at once with their own data areas.
Secondary is of course to allow being on a call on one teams session to change my active status on all of them - and at the same turn of the "you have a calendar entry so you must be busy"
