Cannot share files in a Chat
In a Chat, if I click either the PaperClip or the Files Tab, I cannot attach a file.
This applies to both the desktop and web versions of the application.
Have uninstalled teams, rebooted, then reinstalled the desktop app.
Have OneDrive for business set up.
This bug has been fixed!
I have this issue as well, but only in chats with a lot of participants. I'm not sure the exact number, but my smaller chats with 11 participants or less that have all 9 icons including the paperclip, but my chats 37 participants or more, I can only see the 4 - no paperclip.
I am able to work around this where there is no paperclip by opening the file tab from the chat, then drag the file from my desktop and drop it in the files area, but it won't let me just drop it in the chat for these larger groups.
I have the same issue. I can't share any file from ms teams chat
Is this feature working these days?
I see that I still can't see the option and have the ability to share files to External users in 1:1 chat.

Many users report this issue now. OneDrive works but in MS Teams chat they cannot upload files. Error: "sorry you need onedrive for business to share files".
We open a case with MS but they do not have a solution.
Any one , please send me a fix if you found any?

Having the same issue. Cannot send attachments in private chats works fine in channels though. Please advice. This is very frustrating.

This is not fixed. I have never been able to send files in chat.
Whenever I try drag in or click the attachment icon I get:
"Sorry, you need OneDrive for Business for file sharing. See your IT admin about getting a license."
Microsoft Teams Version 1.0.00.16451 64-bit (last updated on 6/21/17 - today).
Microsoft Office 365 E1 Account
What is your recommendation if I'm still getting the "you need OD for Biz" error within individual chats? We have ODB and file sharing works at the team level. Thanks.

Same issue here. Sharing files works in a group but direct messages blocks me, "Sorry you need OneDrive for Business to share files..."
Using MacOS Teams, I get the message, "We're setting up your files. Check back in a few minutes." when I'm trying to post an attachment in a channel.
However, it is going on 2 weeks and no matter how many times I check back, I still cannot attach files in channels.

Several people in our organization have the same issue.
There are 2 users in our company that have reported this issue. We have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the application. Seems to be isolated to the installed version as the web portal OneDrive works properly in chat.

We keep getting 'sorry you need onedrive for business for file sharing' when we try to share a file in a chat. We all have onedrive for business. Is this a bug?

I'm having the same issue on the Mac desktop app. I cannot attach files to chats, only to team channels. :-(
